Thanks Mcdermd! Using the isopropyl & acetone (I used rubbing alcohol & nail polish remover,) cleaned it right off with a little elbow grease.
I also plan on Retr0brighting the case soon. :D I couldn't remember which OxiClean product I needed so I accidentally got the Laundry Stain...
Sadly no, I have no idea what kind of marks they are. There was a similar one going through the "a" in "Macintosh" but that one came off with water. I can't remember if these marks were there when I got it or appeared after long storage while it had a dead power board.
Rubbing Alcohol had no...
My Dad had a 7200. A powerful (in its day) and stable machine. The only time it had trouble was when using the Sonnet G4 upgrade card, driver issues. Anyway, he mostly ran 8 and then 9 on it.
According to the US Copyright Office website:
So yes, these works are still in copyright. Though the books are 20 years old and for a software product that is no longer sold or supported. Software manuals tend to be rare, infact, google searching "think pascal manual" and this topic comes up as...
Well it turns out that there were already official digital copies of the Symantec C++ 7 manuals on the Symantec C+ 8.6 CD. I've made them available for download here.
I've currently scanned all the right pages of the THINK Pascal User Manual. Just the other half of the book to go. Then it will...
Well, I've finally setup my Classic II for the summer. (Or whats left of summer. :p )
(Any recommendations on how to remove the marks on the case? A simple wet cloth didn't work.)
I now have it dual-booting 6.0.8L & 7.5.5 (Easy to switch between the two with Apple's System Picker...
Here's one: http://home.comcast.net/~macdan//5300power.html
Edit: Oh, looks like I had another guide bookmarked as well. http://www.r3uk.com/index.php/tech-tips/34-disassembly-guides/42-apple-powerbook-5300-disassembly-and-power-connector-repair
When you sit and look at it, that picture actually looks pretty cool. Like some form of wavy energy beam, folding and bending and stuff.
I'm going to (at least temporarily) make it my desktop pic. See if I like it there.
Anyway, good luck on the repairs! ;)
The LaserJet 4+ is a nice printer. We got one from a friend who had got it from JH Kelly, a local industrial contractor. While the cartridge was still usable (same thing occurred as yours,) we enjoyed using it a lot. It came with a network card with built in AppleTalk support. So I had fun being...
There's a dmg image of example sources on stazsoftware.com's shareware page. (Weird place for it huh?)
Been looking around at this mirror of the old ftp.apple.com and found some interesting goodies in Tool_Chest:

Congrats on your conquest there. :D The Classic II has been one of my favorites. Mostly because it was the first Mac I ever owned. (Given to me for my 10th birthday or so.)
What kind of software did it come with?
With my recent conquest of development software, I thought it would be useful for me and others if I try to "bookscan" the programming manuals I got for Symantec C++ and THINK Pascal.
I plan on using this Instrucable to create my "book scanner." The results are actually quite good.
I put...
Hm, that does seem really strange. I had a Orinoco Gold Card for my Lombard, it worked well unless you used it for too long and it got hot. Then you'd have to wait for it to cool off.
Anyway, the only thing I can think of trying besides upgrading the firmware to Gold would be to try using...
Woah, Microsoft made hardware!?! 8-o Lol, that's an awesome card there!
Wait, are you talking about emulation cards, or the actual DOS cards? Because the PowerMac 6100 was capable of Apple's NuBus DOS Compatibility Card (I played with my Dad's one time.) And OrangeMicro did make NuBus DOS...
FutureBASIC might also be something to consider. Its had the ability to use QuickTime since 1.0
I've never used FutureBASIC myself (I haven't really learned to program yet, :p ) but I've played with products that were made using it. Like Cave Dig 3, maybe blobs. There's a reference manual on...
Flash only does well at low resolutions anyway, unless you've got a 1Ghz+ G4 or a G5. Besides, they'll be able to watch Webm easily enough. Especially after your optimizations are complete. :D With Flash 10.1 being the last version for PPC, it might not be long before sites move to requiring...
Ah okay, knew there was a reason. ;) Guess I missed the parts in your blog where you mentioned you were looking into it.
I did a bit of searching, looks like there was plans during Google's Summer of Code 2007 to add see2 and altivec into libtheora. But I haven't found anything from that.
I...
Very happy with TFF5 on my PowerBook G4. :D Thanks to all who helped make TenFourFox 5 possible!
I was wondering, on TFF's homepage you mentioned the new Altivec optimizations for Webm and stuff, and in the future images and html. I noticed that Theora wasn't mentioned, is there already some...
