Wondering if I could challenge myself to use only PowerPC for a week?
Things I do:
Watch YouTube (I'm thinking MacTubes/YouView)
Browse the Web
Edit video and upload it to YouTube (1080p HD)
Could I? If so, what computers (PowerBook G4 might be good)
CRT safety procedures + LC 575 logic board + System 7.5.4 (PM raoulduke to get a copy of this rare OS) + 640x480 mod + PDS video card (for when you need a big screen) = awesome!
A Colour Classic II is quite old for Gmail, and I would suggest upgrading to a 68040 (Mystic upgrade) for Gmail. Your best bet would be Baton Mail or something like that.
Also, have you considered running System 7.5.4? http://www.fenestrated.net/~macman/SysReview/#Summaryis a good explanation...
Apple IIs (at least the //e enhanced I used) do this cool thing where they represent colours as bunches of black and white dots. They're great on both both B&W and colour screens.
There's no option in the keyboard control panel, and I don't really want to change the keyboard layout so much as the spellings (e.g. "color" to "colour", "recognize" to "recognise").
Edit: Has the 1400cs/166 got an active or passive matrix screen?
I have one ADB keyboard and one ADB mouse, that came with a Mac SE.
ADB computers I have:
Mac SE (dual 1.44MB floppy drives)
Mac IIci (160MB hard drive)
PowerBook 1400cs/166 (my newest addition!) (1.3GB hard drive)
It arrived, but has a hinge problem: the two halves of the left hinge do not meet, and the left display cable has worked up into the bezel, and is pushing the bezel away from the screen. Any ideas on how to fix it?
Also, does anybody know where to find a British English Mac OS 7.6.1 CD image...
You have a 3D printer? Nice. I don't know of a 3D model of the drive cover, but if someone has an SE drive cover and a 3D scanner, they could scan it in.
