    It doesn't work. It says  can't OPEN: pci2/ata-6@D/@0:3,\\:tbxi Can't open device or file ok .

    It is when the capacitors inside the computer (typically on the motherboard) are replaced.

    So I got this Aluminium PowerBook G4 (A1106). I replaced the hard drive, and afterwards it turned on but displayed the folder with a question mark/Finder logo. I thought that perhaps I needed to press C to boot from the Leopard DVD in the drive, so I turned off the machine. I haven't been able...

    Yes, I was actually thinking of a IIci, not a IIcx. (The IIci uses system memory for VRAM.) Do you get a boot chime and/or chimes of death?

    No video signal? You may have bad memory. Try getting some more and using an antistatic wristband whilst you're putting it in.

    I thought your Lisa had no logic/mother board? Edit: I love Lisas, but I cannot justify spending US$1000 on a computer I can't upgrade/repair (10 000 volts on a CRT).
