Thanks, I'm aware of that quirk. If the blink pattern doesn't happen it doesn't work at all. This works for a while then just stops.
In the past day, I found my old Farallon EtherMac Multiprint adapter. This seems to work without registering on the AppleTalk network. I get the same disconnect...
I should note my BOM export only works for the 603-0525 Analog board. Model number as printed on the board. The 063-0395 board is slightly different in the capacitor values and locations. Most work. I'll post that list shortly.
Based on another forum post it looks like the original is an EPG30D which is still available. Attached is a BOM I've used on my Mac Classic and Classic II analog boards. The BOM should be importable into Digikey or Mouser easily. ...
I'll check that out. I'm aware of the bootup order. If you don't get that right nothing shows up using nbplkup. I also found somewhere that later firmware versions don't have this issue.
As mentioned the registration in the AppleTalk network doesn't go away anymore like it did when the device...
Basically you need to go through all of chapters 8 and 9 of the previously linked book. It will give a rundown of what to check and what to replace if certain conditions are met.
This worked....mostly.
It still disconnects part way through the transfer but I get more transferred now. The speed is more of what I would expect. The TX/RX lights on the bridge blink wildly for 30-45sec then it stops and eventually the Classic complains about the file server being...
I recently connected a Macintosh Classic (7.5.5) to Ethernet via an Asantetalk bridge. I can successfully mount a file share from a Basilisk II VM and copy some files from the Classic to the VM.
There are two odd things. 1) originally when I tried to mount a share from the Classic into the VM...
If anyone else ends up using AM27C400 EPROMs you'll need the following information.
The AM27C400 is not compatible with the TL866 family chip reader/writer. Find an adapter board at the GitHub link below. There are many out there prebuilt to buy from the arcade community...
Wondering if the modern M68HC000 version of the 68000 chip family can be a drop-in replacement for an M68000FN8. Anyone tried this?
I'm pretty sure the only differences is one is CMOS the other is HMOS.
This Atari forum post seems to indicate it...
Good point. If it's not on there is a bug in the firmware.
When both devices are on the bus the activity light for the SCSI2SD stays on 100% of the time.
If the SCSI termination is like other multiaccess busses in electronics the resistors are there to prevent reflection of signals on the bus...
I have the same issue with my Classic II. If I have both the SCSI2SD (v6) and the internal drive plugged in it won't boot. Either of them on their own and it boots just fine. Was kinda wondering if it was my recap job or something else but haven't done enough troubleshooting.
So it's worth...
For any of the official disks it would be best to take a flux image using something like https://applesaucefdc.com/. Then you can copy any potential copy protect as well. Also has a better chance of recovering an aged floppy. You can export other image types after creating the flux image.
In...
I don't think dd can start at a specific location. But you could always merge two images together with cat. Then write the whole image to the SD card and set the disk start locations properly in the SCSI2SD utility.
I did something similar where I wrote out my image to the first part of the...
Via the schematic, I found the original chip is a TC534200. I was able to find this cross reference for compatible EPROM chips. Unfortunately, they are all out of production but there seems to be a fairly decent stock on ebay/Aliexpress. Unfortunately, it's not pin-compatible with the 27C4096 as...
I had similar issues on a Classic II the system 7.5.3 install would hang building the system file. I ended up doing all updates with Basilisk II then writing the image to the SCSI2SD. After that all is well.
Base image with system 7.5 or 6.0.8 minimal system...
I personally use this guy's image. Then either copy the update files in using HFS tools on Linux and boot on my Mac Classic or mount the image in Basilisk II per his instructions, update the minimal system to system 7.5.5, then write the image to SD card.
Using Basilisk II the install stakes...
But that list is just a list of devices people have reported success. Not necessarily a definitive no it won't work it wasn't designed for it type list
