Something like system 7.6 not being available for free doesn't make sense, because apple cannot gain or lose any money by allowing it to be shared. I know theres more to it than just giving it away, but I really don't get it.
I'm fairly certain they own their own servers. The bandwidth used to download a couple floppies wouldn't even show up compared to downloading OS X updates. Small businesses and the like pay for their web hosting/storage. I doubt Apple pays for (as far as hosting is concerned) anything other...
The native resolution is 800x600 but it also supports 640x480 and 1024x768 just fine. To be honest 640x480 looks the best for OS 9, as the higher resolutions don't have the higher refresh rates and are hard on the eyes. (To me)
C,
I'm pretty sure I used a Color system 7 screenshot from google to make mine, haha.
The reason I put "Welcome to Macintosh" in the white box instead of just in the gray, is because I just resized the Mac OS 8 screen, used it's borders, and etc. and then pasted the picasso and the text into it.
Off Topic: Do you have an easy solution for getting screenshots from the 68k's to the modern web? I was using photoshop 1.0 to convert them to gif, then FTP'ing them over.
I have the System 7 startup screen for OS 8.6 currently Took a little fiddling to get it right (and the progress bar loads out of the box) but it's cool. I love seeing "Welcome to Macintosh"
Is the small side of the new gear, the part that's supposed to be making contact with the gear to the left of it in the video?
rather than the front side which we can see a gap?
I have the same or similar experience with a 72gb savvio and terminated adapter, although it's inside of a B&W G3 450. I'm using a PCI SCSI adapter which the brand name is lost on me at the moment, but neither OS 8.6 or 9.2.2 are able to mount the drive. (or Panther for that matter).
What...
There have been tons of remakes of the Oregon Trail, but they're really all just clones of the original, more color better sprites, same game.
It would be neat to have that done in 3D, maybe even the hunting part done in first person.
