HELP! Noob Building a Parallel Port ROM HackStation . . .

Hey jt, Want me to burn a few different Ubuntu versions to DVD and send them over? Free? I've been using LUbuntu which looks and feels like an older windows version, but is really snappy and completely up-to-date. I installed it for a family member, and besides "All of my programs have...

    Finally, a LUNCHBOX!

Windows 95 as bad as ME? Windows 98 has Internet Explorer integrated. It started the "internetizing" of Windows which made it more buggy and less productive. You can't get a '404 page not found' while browsing your hard drive in Windows 95, lol.

HELP! Noob Building a Parallel Port ROM HackStation . . .

Ubuntu should run decently on there, maybe one of the alternate DE versions like Xubuntu or Lubuntu would be better though. It's a Pentium 4, so it should be in the GHz range at least.

Did you already find this PDF about the motherboard? http://www.daito-me.com/product/maker/Radisys/Endura%20EM945G.pdf It's only showing support for XP + later.

HELP! Noob Building a Parallel Port ROM HackStation . . .

Yep, CPU power is my first guess, and then check if the RAM is seated correctly. Hell, see if the CPU is as well.

Beige G3 + Sonnet Encore ZIF 1ghz will not power on

Very clean, and that heat sink looks sweet. If you are into customizing they sell thumb screws that color, for the PCI cards or something else inside. Here's one ebay auction that has a few for reference...

6800 Ultra AGP for Powermac G5

You could put the old card back in, and then upgrade to tiger or leopard. Then, put the new card in, or I may be confused as well to what you are doing.

Decked out Apple IIgs vs. Decked out PLUS

Depends how much I knew about either system at the time, but I think seeing them side by side, IIGS for me. Color on the screen, larger screen, and the color printing? Yes. When I was younger, black/white (based on TV sets) meant boring to me. Even if it was a green phosphorus screen, I'd...

    angled USB adapter

Well now I feel dumb. I thought I covered all the bases searching for something like that, but I sure was wrong. Thank you for that link! Also: I have a couple of Logitech mice with the tiny recievers, but the wheels just free roll and aren't that comfy. I prefer this wireless microsoft mouse...

    angled USB adapter

I have had this idea floating around in my head for some time now and it's time someone else knew about it. I'm not sure how to implement this, but I would be the first customer and I am sure others could benefit from such a device. When I am on my laptop, I use an older wireless mouse. The...

Upgrade (sic!) from OSX 10.3 to OS 9

If you can boot from that CD, then you have the option to initialize the drive from Disk Utility. Then just follow the steps to install, it's really straight forward.

    Macintosh SE FDHD model number

That's my SE FDHD's Model Number. M5011. The back sticker just says Macintosh SE, but the front says Macintosh SE FDHD. Unfortunately, all SE's share that model number, the original through the Superdrive. The only way to tell them apart is by their serial number that I can tell. Running the...
