Thanks!
I definitely need some extras for my LC475 as well.
I'm not too optimistic about finding a CD-ROM drive but with the modern SCSI solutions (especially RAscsi with it's realtime CD image mounting capability) it might not matter that much.
As before; I've tried to ssh the file you posted into /home/pi/images but it doesn't show up in the web ui in the list of image files.
I may need to create a 2GB drive from within the web ui attach it to basilisk along with the .dsk image and clone the .dsk into the .hda file for it to be seen...
Oh no, I've actually had this image on my BII.
I thought it wouldn't be of much use for the RASCSI because it's .dsk
So can I just ssh it into the RACSI images folder and mount it?
I've watched that video but things aren't working so well for me.
Everything goes smooth as per the video but the...
Yes, if you could share an image that would be great. Thanks:)
The 7.5.3 image I've used was a minimal install.
My workaround was to make a larger blank HD image, mount both and copy the system folder to the larger volume and then keep that just to have space to install some software.
BTW have...
Okay, so I got a RASCSI and was wondering whether a premade 7.5.5 or even 7.5.3 disk image larger than the 40MB ones which have zero space left is avalaible.
I'm already trying having the power plug connected to my G3 which is not turning on as reported ealier in this thread.
I'll update if that fixes the no power issue I'm having.
With that said a resistor won't address the impedance mismatch of the amplifier/speaker as that is relevant (varies) in...
It was the actual speaker as Byrd mentioned.
The plastic membrane around the speaker cone has been teared so it was sounding distorted.
I glued it carefully with some silicone glue and now it's sounding a lot less clipped although still a bit loud.
Certainly not crystal clear so I could maybe...
I do have an electronic load so I could connect that to the 5V rail which I assume would be the reference for the rest of the voltages produced.
So 9 to 10 it is.
I will test and report back.
Where is this setting for the startup chime volume?
When I adjust the sound of the internal speaker in Preferences the confirmation sound effect is normal, it's only the bong that's very loud.
I have a new 3.6V battery I can put in there in order to save the chime level to PRAM but I've yet to...
I turned on my G4 MDD today and it works as expected but I noticed the startup chime is waay too loud to the point it is distorted and ugly sounding.
I really don't recall anything like this happening last time I powered it on.
The battery is absent, I think I removed it because it was dead and...
It's not all of it. I've got a Performa 630 (which is due for repair) and a SE FDHD.
I never thought I needed a Floppy EMU because all my Macs have 1.4MB floppy drives so it's easy enought to write an image from any modern computer.
My main problem is hard drives because they seem to fail one by...
I actually sat down and wrote all 19 system 7.5.3 floppies.🙃
I've used system 7.5.3 Revision 2 images I found somewhere, hope they're good.
My plan is to install 7.5.3 and then update to 7.5.5 thru floppies again.
I've got 2* LC475, one LC and a IIsi that had their HD drives fail. Τhey were...
I have a G4 with serial port and I've used it to share files between it and a SE machine thru Appletalk.
Can you tell me a bit more on how to perform a net install?!
I only have an internal SCSI CD drive and a Iomega SCSI zip drive, no external CD drive.
I've tried booting with an image of 7.5.5 disk tools I've found on another LC475 thread and I was able to boot!
So now I need to find a way to install some kind of an earlier OS ( system 7.5.3) in order to finally update to 7.5.5.
Since writing 25 or so floppies for system 7.5.3 and then 7.5.5...
The disk drive in my LC475 has recently started acting up and it's now to a point that the machine freezes when entering the desktop so I decided I should perform a clean install to another disk.
I think the computer was running 7.1 when the disk worked but I can't remember if it was 7.1.2 or...
I've had similar problems with some of those slim power supplies and it was always the capacitors and passives that their legs got so corroded that they broke off.
I've seen diodes and resistors which looked okay but one or both the legs got broken off instantly just by gently pushing them with...
It's an EMC 1857 (color= blue and it has firewire ports and a vga connector).
It never booted in my hands so I don't know about proccessor speed etc but should be a 350MHz.
Not sure how to test the flyback and I don't have a high voltage probe so I don't think I can just measure stuff there...
I've got a G3 that was given to me sometime ago and never got around messing with it.
The previous owner reported that it has a power supply of sorts.
I tried to power it on today and no green light comes up and I see no CRT activity other than some arcing sounds near the power plug.
I have...
