I don't wonder at all, that drive is as good as dead now. I mean its "technically" possible to be lucky enough that the internal filer takes care of the load of dust and dirt, but if you are THAT lucky you should be out playing the lotto, not opening drives.

It might be a silly question but... why is there no lid on your hard drive? Does it still make the sound when that drive is completely removed?
