    Cube questions: Graphics, heat, DVD

Even though the fan does not directly impact the video card area it will still help by reducing the overall inside temperature of the inside of the machine.

    Cube questions: Graphics, heat, DVD

Get the fan kit for the Cube. I believe Macsales sells it still and its fairly cheap and straight forward. The Cube was designed for a fan and everything is there, including a mounting bracket with holes for screws and a connection for it on the VRM board. Apple just decided not to install a...

    Thoughts on Dual 2.7 G5

First generation four cores with a decent amount of RAM still fetch $1000 easily. It's kind of insane people still want that kind of money for it considering the huge difference in performance of them vs the new current machines. For example the base model original Mac Pro scores about 3700 and...

    Thoughts on Dual 2.7 G5

Having it leak is the best possibly senario. As I mentioned before, my friend just got one that someone was throwing away that leaked. Apple handed him a nice new Mac Pro for it.

Don't care too much about a WGS but nice work area. I am jealous.

Conquest for someone here? (NEW Centris 610 case)

It's probably new because it's an Apple service part that is part of the case. Apple does not refurbish any external case parts. The fact that they are selling it with the service part number and the packing does not look like a random box someone found the right size.

23" Apple Cinema Display, 2x250 SATA & Oh, one more thing

No one as far as I know. The PCI-X models had an 8x AGP Pro slot for graphics.

    Liquid cooled G5s

If you can find a G5 that has already leaked for cheap, buy it. Apple still regularly replaces these machines, for free, with a Mac Pro. My friend just had his replaced last week. Funny thing is, someone gave him the leaked one to junk and now he got a free Mac Pro.

Twice the Power, None of the Price.

I believe any Socket M module will work without issues.

Twice the Power, None of the Price.

Not the die, it's pretty small and all the pins are fine, you can barely see it. It's on the right corner of the top CPU.

Twice the Power, None of the Price.

I pulled another 1.83 T5600 Core2Duo, and I have two more to pull. The 2.13 is actually slightly chipped on the corner and I do not know if it'll affect how it'll work. If you want, I'll gladly send you a few 1.83ghz Core2Duos for just the cost of shipping. I guess I can send the 2.16 and two...

Twice the Power, None of the Price.

The 2.13 (as labelled on the CPU) is from a 2.16ghz 20" white Imac. It should work fine in any white iMac or socketed Mini.

Twice the Power, None of the Price.

Yes. I have a Core Duo 1.83ghz and a Core 2 Duo 2.16ghz sitting infront of me. I'd let them go pretty cheap. I'll include a warranty for 7 days. If you're in NJ I'd prefer you come get them from me in person. I am in Deptford.

Twice the Power, None of the Price.

Send me your address so I can get a quote for shipping. If it's cheap enough I'll see what I can send you. I have a few more of these machines laying around that I need to pull CPUs from.

Twice the Power, None of the Price.

It's not that horrible to replace the CPU in one of those iMacs. The thing to be careful with is not to bend the heat pipes on the heatsink. I think on most if not all models you can disassembled the finned part and that will eliminate the possibility of that happening. I've always just been too...

    PowerBook 190cs

The first set I tried the first floppy was bad so I didn't bother with that set and went to the next one. That set worked fine.

    PowerBook 190cs

I installed 7.5.2 (original build it shipped with). It's the only thing I have floppies for. The guy actually gave me three sets of those discs so far. I haven't been through all the floppies yet so there could be more.

    2.5Ghz MacBook Pro $650USD

Not sure where you're shopping but an OCZ 32GB MLC (the good kind of SSD) is $58 after rebate, $78 before from Newegg. You can get very good 64GB for around $120 these days.

    PowerBook 190cs

DC connector is a non-issue because as I said already in this thread, I am not going to actually USE this machine. If someone wants it, offer me a trade of something more useful (to me). I'd probably hang onto this if I had ethernet but I am not going to invest any money in it with any upgrades.
