Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
I'd be weary of having a WEP access point even if hidden, but maybe that's just me being paranoid :)
AFAIK Airport should connect to any AP you can force eapol_version to 1 in hostapd, or, at least that's how it works with my travel router.
That being said I'm looking into using a Raspberry...
I actually installed LEDE on my travel router and it seems to be working fine now, at least association wise until I fumble through all the configuration.
I'm hoping this works for other people as well since I've read numerous posts where they eventually gave up.
I've been fiddling with this a bit and it appears hostapd or the wlan driver or whatever is not communicating properly.
I get the normal debug output showing a device connecting and such but then hostapd says:
WPA: sending 1/4 msg of 4-Way Handshake
WPA: EAPOL-Key timeout
..
..
WPA...
Yeah, I've heard some people say it works and other people say it doesn't, and some even say it works but only on certain routers.
I'm hoping it'll associate with the Raspberry Pi, the general idea is that I can just attach it to the powerbank I have and leave it in my purse for true wireless...
Is there a list of known working chipsets or somesuch?
I've had no luck getting the Airport card in my clamshell to connect to a home router and a TP-Link travel router, both say the password is incorrect.
That being said it appears the Airport firmware is up to date as well as my OSX 10.4.11...
I've considered it but MacOS programming docs seem to be few and far between and the way back machine only seems to have parts of the Apple developer site from that era.
That being said I don't see why something like Dropbear couldn't be ported to Classic MacOS, I'm not sure about the...
So far, so good.
Webkit based browsers kept complaining about certificates, I installed new ones from my El Capitan installation and it's at least connecting to sites now albeit with a warning message.
Unfortunately TenFourFox is not usable with this machine so I'll keep looking for more...
I can try disabling spotlight and dashboard and see how it goes, SuperDuper is currently backing up my Panther installation (A whopping 1MB/s over FW) so I can go back easy enough.
I guess time to desktop from the chime is the easiest way of measuring?
Hiya!
I've tried a few operating systems on my clamshell iBook SE and so far OS9 and Panther are the only ones that run well or have a somewhat decent amount of available software.
Panther runs fairly well with 576MB aside from the graphics being laggy which I kind of expect.
Tiger issues...
My clamshell iBook SE is acting a bit odd.
I installed 10.3 on it and upgraded to 10.3.9 which has been running fine but so far today it has frozen while unstuffing a bin archive and later finder crashed with EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001) and KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE.
I'm guessing this crash and...
Are you changing the multi or bus speed to get the higher clocks?
I'd wonder how much you could push it that way if you desoldered the on board PC-66 memory, if possible.
Maybe shadowkiller would speed things up?
Search for "shadowkiller-13.dmg" on google to get a working link.
It speeds my iBook running 10.3 up a decent amount.
I installed 10.3 and it's just sitting in iTunes with the spinning beach ball icon.
I don't know if I can be arsed to get a real HDD for the iPod or just say screw it and not use it with the iBook at all.
e:
System profiler will eventually read the iPod but it takes a long time.

Bah!
I might pick up a CPU anyway before the supply dries up, and maybe in the future a Powerbook will catch my eye.
Good stuff though, pretty amazing to see all the progress.
