    Driver's License!

Congrats on getting your new licence! I'm in the process of getting mine, unfortunately I failed my driving exam (a stupid thing with a dividing line) and now, only on Sep 23rd I'll take a new one. :p I know how you feel about being dependent of rides and public transportation, that's why I...

    "Monitor with built in computer"

Yes... I have two of those 5200's, and the other (which I didn't mention in the post above :)) is running 7.5.1. What a slug! Well, but I can't do much about that one, as it only has 8 megs of RAM, and the stock 500 MB hard drive. It serves as a parts machine for my tuned-up 5200! :D...

    PowerBook G3 Pismo (400)

Indeed. I paid 170 euros for mine last year... of course it had 256 MB of RAM, a 40 gig hard drive, AirPort card and it worked flawlessly :) . $65 is a really nice deal! I regret not living in the US because of that: people always get those deals, which are almoust impossible to find here in...

My Pismo doesn't want OS 9!

Thanks! I'm going to try that. Actually... one of the reasons I downgraded from Tiger to Panther was because the disk was experiencing some problems. At some time, Tiger refused to boot, but when I ran Disk Utility (from the CD), the problem was solved. Maybe the Panther installer only cleaned...

My Pismo doesn't want OS 9!

@sircabulon: no, my disks are retail versions, although one says "PowerMac G4 install", and the other "iMac install" on the volume name. But they installed perfectly on the G3 iBook! :) @Boldt: yes, also tried that. The Pismo boots from the CD, I hear drive activity, then the floppy disk with...

My Pismo doesn't want OS 9!

Hello all, I'm having some trouble on installing Mac OS 9 on my Pismo. Recently I downgraded the thing from Tiger to Panther (it was dragging itself in every app, although it has 512 Megs of RAM...), but I wanted to install 9.2.2 too (on the same partition). The problem is that the Pismo does...

    "Monitor with built in computer"

My 5200 has its RAM maxed up to 64 MB, TV tuner card and video input, and also an Ethernet card. Although it's a little slow, the TV part is a nice add-on - I wouldn't consider it an useless machine :) .

    iMacs (plenty of them!)

At least the TV tuner on my Performa 5200 allows the change from NTSC to PAL, using the Apple Video Player... Don't know how that would work on the Performa. Oh, and by the way, this problem was mentioned in RetroMacCast, wasn't it? I now recall hearing about the australian who had that problem...

    Classic II with weird pattern!

Hi there, Recently got a Classic II, which sat outside for a number of days... I let it dry for some time (about a week or so), before trying something else. After plugging it in, and firing it up, all I got was this: No bongs, nothing... it seems the floppy drive is working, though...

    Some questions..

There is not a single RAM chip on the board, so it couldn't be a video card, IMHO... I don't know how could the seller say the card was working, if he didn't even know what it did :-p .
