Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
Your link spoke to comms between a modern machine and the Apple //c, vice a classic Macintosh running pre OS X. At least that's what I recall seeing, but I'll look again.
Have one! I use it for Appletalk between the Classic II and my Powerbook. Will have to see if I can find the ADT for classic Macs.
May do the newer version of ADT later, but really just want to see what all I can do between the Classic II and the Apple Iic. Heck, got the Classic II up on a...
So it's impossible to communicate between an Apple IIc Plus and a classic Macintosh?
If so, really surprised nobody found a way to make that happen within the past twenty-five years.
Do appreciate the information you provided, but was really hoping to find a way to make the comms between my...
Well, I have a classic Mac, and I don't have ADT Pro.
What would be the costs associated with my getting ADT Pro and associated equipment, vice using what I already have - and what would be the gain to make it worth my while?
Howdy!
Will soon acquire an Apple //c Plus, and have a Macintosh Classic II running OS 7.5.5. Am able to Appletalk between the Classic II and my Powerbook 3400c, and can get both machines WWW access through LAN (the Classic II through an Asante adaptor).
So... Did a search for this but came...
Had a bead on that setup for just $120, but some other fellow tried to outbid me within the last two minutes, ratcheting up the price incrementally, and quickly. Those cats must have some third-party bot application that pings prices upward in short order.
Lost out on a IIc the week before...
Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. Yeah, suppose there are folks out there with money to burn who might spend $25K on a vintage computer. Haven't met any, but they're likely out there.
I laid down nearly $300 yesterday for a Apple IIc Plus, with color monitor and external 5.25 FDD myself.
Walk in, look at it, give a half-frown, and say, "Well, it's an interesting relic. Might give you fifty bucks for it," then feign disinterest and act like you'd like to go somewhere else.
Okay, thanks much!
Did what you suggested (image), but still get no music from the Classic II speaker. Is there a program I must run to hear what my CD-ROM player is piping into the Classic II?
Have a SCSI CD-ROM player for my Classic II. Here are the specs for my machine:
- 10 MB RAM
- 80 MB Hard Drive
- OS 7.5.5
The machine's sound works fine, so I can get the usual sound effects out of it. When I play the Apple CD Player, you can see the tracks on the screen, and the LED...
Finally met with success. I had two sets of System 7.5.3 floppy disks, and neither was able to install to my Classic II.
So, I copied the 7.5.3 images from the Apple site, and moved each image over to the Classic II from my PowerBook 3400c, one disk at a time. Copy, switch, copy, switch -...
Update: My work-around attempt to install 7.5.3 fell flat. Had to reinstall 7.0.1 after initializing.
Miss all the open transport options with TCP/IP configuration though - can't find a way to crack that nut in 7.0.1, even with the Asante Ethernet software. :(
Will google the 6.0.8.L. Read nothing about networking in the linked ReadMe file, so how did you crack the nut on open transport and gaining internet through a LAN (I have a SCSI Asante ethernet adapter)?
