Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
I've still not come across a manual for the Laptop 125 - closest I've got is that MJ313 has scanned the Notebook manual - perhaps that would help? He sent me a copy, sure he'd be happy to send you one too.
Contacted the guy selling the pile of Outbound disks asking him if he'd image them and share them but no luck, he just suggested I buy the disks... which at $50 <snip>
If anyone on here buys them - please image and share them on somewhere like Macintosh Garden (as long as it's (somewhat)...
thanks!
I bid on the loads of Outbound spare parts going on ebay but gave in in the end to whoever won, shipping US -> UK is just too much of a killer and I can't keep sending stuff to my New York office or they'll get annoyed with me!
Awesome thank you. I'll drop you a reminder in a few weeks or so :)
And thanks for the manual images - if you had the time to do the whole manual that would be amazing too! Be good to archive it somewhere on the web. I've been searching a lot.
Oh I have a happy ending for this. I sprayed a bit of contact cleaner into all the video pots, then on the suggestion of my brother gave each one a gentle but firm tap with the handle of a screwdriver. The video is now happy and working!
Just got to use a Lisa properly for the first time! :lisa2:
@unity I'm lucky enough to have the original PSU (now dead) and original floppy drive (I've not tested it).
Do you have the software installers? I'd be very grateful for disk images!
And yes, I backed up mine in target disk mode too :)
@trag yeah I'm super curious about that daughter card too - never seen any evidence for its existence besides the references in software and adverts for the Outbound. My Outbound 125 came with lots of stuff, but sadly no manuals, software or the elusive card!
So I've just replaced all the caps and power transistors in my Lisa 2/10's Datapower PSU. Seems a lot happier now, except that the next barrier I'm hitting is that the video is messed up:
Seems to me that this is most likely cap or pots replacements needed on the video board.
Can anyone...
