I'm on installing OS 8 on this machine. The HD utility in OS 8 does not recognize the HD as an Apple drive, so I used Lido again. Strangely Lido detects the drive as 78 gig, while it is 20 gig. Any idea?
I really meant a 6100, and if you look at my first message, I used a SCSI to IDE adaptor to install a huge HD (that is compare to the default it had before!) into this machine.
Hi,
I've looked at what I have, and I'm unsure how to follow this project. Let's see:
I reopen my IIgs and looked inside it. There is no such thing as a way to get a 3.5" HD power from the internal PS, and I want something clean, not an external PS to replace an external HD. I removed the SCSI...
Hi,
I have a II GS with an Apple SCSI card hook to an external HD and ZIP drive. For the moment I have to disconnect the ZIP because it is somehow interfering with the HD, don't know why because it use to work before I move the II GS in the house.
But anyway, my question is more related to the...
Hi,
I've been toying with the Acard 7720 SCSI/IDE adaptor http://www.acard.com/english/fb01-product.jsp?idno_no=23&prod_no=AEC-7720U&type1_title=SCSIDE%20Bridge&type1_idno=2 .
I installed it in one of my 6100 where I needed a large capacity drive and the one I had were failing or...
I tried every possible combinaison and it did not worked in either position. So, cannot say. Nice to know they are reproduced at the back, but I did not see the A0-1-2 letters there, anyway..
Thanks
Hi Tomlee,
You indication were more than useful. I found immediately the A0, A1 and A2 jumpers and put one in A2+A1, which gave me the ID 6 I wanted. I could have tried lot of time on this, as the SCSI IS selector on the case was connected to something at the back on the drive, while those Ax...
I may have realise that the enclosure SCSI ID selection is not working at all. So the drive is always at SCSI ID 0. I tried switching the selector elsewhere on the drive jumpers, no luck there either.
So, if at least I could get the jumper settings for SCSI ID (even if I had to fixed it for its...
Hi,
I have another external enclosure with a 40 Mb HD (Apple branded) from Quantum QA250 in it.
I'm unable to make it mount on my desktop. If connected directly internally to the motherboard SCSI, the drive is working. I also tried it plugged externally without the Internal drive installed...
This is nothing new, as I saw that many times on eBay (similar hardware) that emulate a Widget drive.
But looking at auction from this seller, is really into money! All auctions are, in my opinion, overpriced...
You got it. I wrote the disk 2 from my LC475, which has the afford-mention extension (IIe card installed) and it worked like a charm. The IIgs booted up to GS/OS.
Thanks
It is a fair price I think, consider this:
TENS (not thousands) of software.
An Apple II that have 40 years old (I tough it was around 30...)
Investment for the future...
Network card????
You have the keyboard (not sure if the computer is included!!)
Loss/Damage protection included up to...
Ok, did a few more tests!
I removed the external termination and it booted up to almost the end on the internal HD, but the computer freezes just at the boot end.
The HD is a Quantum 730 Mb (LT73S0011 or something like this). I did not had more time to test anything else...
So far, I did not...
Hi,
I have an external enclosure that is having strange behavior... All tests have been done with a SCSI terminator on the enclosure.
If I connect the enclosure to a Mac without any HD installed internally, it boots up correctly to it, no problem. SCSI probe reports SCSI ID 3 as expected.
If...
