I googled it, what I have is not even remotely look alike of what I found! Just a plain iron stick. So I may have to invest in that before proceeding to anything to repair my Macs...
I'd like to have advice as to what's best for the price, what I should look for. I' min Canada, so I do not know...
Well, that may be it then.
I am not a master of the soldering iron, nor that I'm probably not equipped with the state of the art soldering kit, but how difficult is it to do?
If they are dried out, can we just humidify them a bit? Ok, just kidding here... :)
Yes, forgot to mention I removed the card too.
I will test the battery in the 6100.
As for the caps, I have not look at them very closely yet, but I did not saw an obvious leak either. I'll take a closer look...
I was afraid that one would say that.
Since I pisted, I tried another LC I have and a spare MB for the 6115 with the same results.
Could the caps been wrong on all of them at once?
If so, I need instructions...
Hello,
After I moved 2 years ago, I am finally able to get my machines out and fire them.
I have two for which I want to make sure they work:
- a LC III in which I have a IIe card
- a Performa 6115CD with a 486 PC card
Both machines are chiming in when I power them up, but I can't get them...
100$, not very expensive if you consider that a SCSI card for the IIgs is around the same price! And I can imagine that the IIgs would look very cool without an external drive to bug us :p
Sorry, you are totally right, I misread the announced in eBay!
Other than this external pricey solution, is there anything else that have been tried?
I personally aded a 20 Gb IDE HD in a Performa 6100 using SCSI to IDE converter, and it is working just fine. I have another of those available...
Anyone tried something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/2-5-3-5-SCSI-Converter-KIT-CF-PowerMonster-/300455285531?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0#ht_500wt_1154
Cheap, but if it work as boot drive, would be great...
That maybe the battery. If I reboot the Mac, and let it run, no problem ever. But as soon as I switch the machine off, I have to rely on this trick again. I do not like this as it may result it bad things eventually, such as MB burning!
I thought I had some other batteries like this, but none...
Damn god! It worked on the first one!
Ouf, does not make sense to me, how come it is a diagnostic method now
I'll try this on my second one too, in case it wakes up. I have an LC III case when I can put the MB into, so that will give me a backup in case of...
Thanks!
Hi,
I have 2 LC475 mainboard. I remember that one used to be working just fine, and the other one had an issue. Now, they seam to have the same issue. I'm really confused as to what happen there. But I do not think they are dead.
Both MB when put into a case and turned on do their startup...
My initial question was about the HD size limit on the 6100 running 7.5.3. The software you talked about IS Lido 7 and I'm wandering why you mention it is not supported. Is is not supported anymore, maybe, but for all the tasks I've asked it to do in the past, it worked fine. Except this one...
maybe because I have not thought about it before? Is there a problem here? anyway my initial question was about the maximum capacity HD of the 6100, not about formating.
In anycase the 6100 may not have regonize the drive anyway since it could not boot from a partition larger than 2 gb anyway...
FWB is the still not so free formating utility, right? To use this a few times a year, I'm not sure it is worth it!
I used Lido for a while and it has been working fine. I heard about it on this site. Up to date, Lido has been working fine.
I thought about it, and remembered that my Performa...
This look interesting as well:
