    Powerbook CD drive Help!

Hi I recently bought a 12" Powerbook G4 on ebay. Everything works great, but there is a problem with the cd drive. The felt that is on the opening of the drive is missing. When a cd is inserted or ejected, it gets a few scratches. Does anybody know how to replace the felt lining?

    Isn't this a pretty machine?

In the auctions, he posted that the reserve price was over $300. That probably set bidders off. Why would they bid if they couldn't buy it?

Color Classic Mystic VGA is missing the red from its display

I did clean the mobo and wiring harness contacts with windex. Do you think windex is not powerful enough? Should I use rubbing alcohol?

Color Classic Mystic VGA is missing the red from its display

Yeah, I looked at the FAQ and tried the video board repairs. I resoldered the only dull joint and it changed nothing. Also, I replaced the VRAM chips on the MOBO but that didn't help either.

Compatibility: Color Classic Logicboard to an LC 575?

The Color Classic MOBO is really an LC, so it can support 640x480. Depending on how much vram you have, you may be stuck with 16 colors.

    Jammed HD from Mac IIci

I tried everything you said. Now the LED starts flashing every few seconds. I think this means it is dead. My next idea is to leave it on for around 20 minutes and then try it again.

    Jammed HD from Mac IIci

Color Classic Mystic VGA is missing the red from its display

OK I cleaned the wiring harness that connects the motherboard, HD, floppy drive, and analog board together. I think the frequency of the red flickering has slowed down but it hasn't stopped altogether. Would the wiring harness from a 575 work with the color classic? Or should I try to clean the...
