I recently purchased a Mac Classic II from ebay. At first, the computer did not boot with no startup or death chimes and no video. After washing the logic board, the startup chime is heard and a thick horizontal line flashes erratically. Does anybody have any idea as to what is occurring? :?:
Alas... so close, yet so far :(
It's too pricy for my taste; might as well use the money and save up to buy a Micron Exceed when one shows up. (that is, if one ever does)
Well, the original fan requires 12v DC, so the board should be able to drive any fan that operates with that voltage. My only question is, how would I power the fan. Would soldering a 2-3 pin adapter to the analog board work? (the analog board has two wires that connect to the fan)
Is it possible to hook up an IDE drive to an SE/30 via IDE-SCSI adapter card? Could the drive be used as a boot drive for system 7? What about system 6?
Thanks in advance
Unfortunately, it is the Elina Fan I find too loud. I'm actually working on a project similar to Ze Cube but with an SE/30. One of my goals is to make it very quiet, if not silent.

P.S. To reduce the analog board size, is there...
I'm currently ripping apart my SE/30 for a case mod and I noticed how loud the fan is. It connects to the analog board with 2 wires. Can I use a 2-pin to 3-pin adapter and install a new fan?
I believe you will need a 400k boot disk for your mac. Anything earlier than the SE FDHD cannot read modern floppies. You could either purchase the original disks or make them with another vintage mac compatible with 400k and 800k disks. You can find sites on the web that have older system...
If you need a mouse and keyboard, you are a bit stuck. The mice are easy top find, but only in the platinum plus color. The keyboards are harder to find; they usually only are found with a full 128k. The keyboard cable is important as well. It is not your standard phone cable. If you attempt to...
So, that is a non-SE/30 card with an adaptor for an SE/30?
I guess you could always solder a second PDS slot to some wires and then to the card if placement is an issue...
68030 greyscale SE/30 anyone?
Well, I purchased a 600e DC drive for my SE/30. That didn't work, but a pulled 300i did fit in the CD case and it works quite well. Older drives can't read CD-RWs and they must be Mac OS standard formatted. You can make a Mac OS standard image in Disk Utility for OS X. Then burn the image on a CD-R.
Well, I can double-check the connector and plug, but I've opened it up a few times and there has never been a time when it got worse, or better. Could the VGA upgrade have anything to do with this? What about the 575 board?
I recently upgraded my CC to a mystic with the VGA screen mod. Ever since, the red display will flicker, or even shut off completely, leaving just green and blue to display on the screen. Is it just a dead (or dying) analog board? Any ideas? :?:
Hi
I have an old Apple IIgs I got from craigslist. Does anybody know how to capture the ROM onto an image so I can use it with an emulator? I have a 1.4" floppy disk drive that can connect to it.
