Mac Classic Server for Retro Challenge - Need Some Help

Pretty similar set-up to my D-link... nicer interface though ;-) One thing you can try (if you suspect your router settings are the issue) is to set the server as the DMZ host. That leaves all ports open, then if you still can't hit port 80, try changing it in the MacHTTP config.

    Apple II internet

You may also want to look at IPNetRouter on the Mac. http://www.sustworks.com/site/prod_ipr_overview.html It's $89 and you need a lot of patience and a degree in network technology to set it up. I got it to work once, before the demo expired, but it was way more work than worth.

Mac Classic Server for Retro Challenge - Need Some Help

It is. I have a D-link router that does port forwarding via the virtual server settings.

Mac Classic Server for Retro Challenge - Need Some Help

Obviously MacHTTP is configured correctly if you can access it locally... I would try setting up your router to do port forwarding. Set the private port to 80 and the public port to 8080, but leave MacHTTP running on port 80. Then try http://thismac.is-a-geek.com:8080. Good luck... and don't...

    HTML Editor for OS 7-9?

BBEdit is my favourite for hand-coding HTML. Multi-file find-and-replace is quite handy... when you make as many mistakes as I do ;-)

I think I've found a cure for my '800k floppy disease'

Seems obvious in hindsight, but I've had the same problem and never thought to use Disk First Aid... thanks for posting this.

    Apple III - $15

I'll give you $16 for it... no questions asked! ;-) It's a fairly rare machine, so even if you can't get it working you stand to make a little cash out of it.

    Unix for 8-bit Apple

Well, the browser is a damned handy thing... with serious limitations. It's not really much good for modern web content, but it is a great way to download files to your Apple II. You can use the wget program to download files to Contiki's directory or disk images can be written directly to disk...

    Unix for 8-bit Apple

Unfortunately I don't have much to contribute... I haven't done any programming for Contiki. As far as using it goes, I'm running the 2.x version on the web server and I use 1.3 for browsing. With 64K of memory supported, multitasking is more of a novelty than anything... you can maybe run the...

    Unix for 8-bit Apple

I played with it a bit last year... I was hoping to get a proline bbs online, but the message board part is pretty archaic and I wasn't up to the task of writing a new one. Neat to play with though, and very well documented too.
