Any IIGS goodies you arent using? I need a SCSI card for less than a newborn child goes for on the market. I'm not even going to ask about a accelerator :(
I bought these for $50 a pop. Got 6 of them shipped for more than i paid for the machines.
Anyway, I'm putting gentoo on these bad boys now. Any idea how/what I should do to get the CPU lights working ("blinkenlights" from the BeBox days)?
Oh ive got a 5U Intel Dual HT Xeon server and the thing sounds like a airplane taking off when running. I ran it 24/7 for awhile but it used like 600W at an idle. 10 SCSI drives make alot of noise, along with something like 8 fans!
Here's what I do know about IIGS's and Accelerators:
The accelerator card plugs into the expansion slot, which exposes the memory and data lines on the system. The accelerator's processor is usually clocked much quicker than the stock apple II bus, and using cache memory, transfers the main...
No pictures yet, but i'm attempting to rebuild my collection of IIGS's. I have 2 ROM 03 units and 1 ROM 01 unit, three floppy drives and I know for sure one keyboard and mouse.
I also have 3+ phonenet adaptors, and once I find Appleshare 3 I'll have my IIGS remote-booting off of my makeshift...
go to ddwrt and use the router list to see what router you need to buy. Purchase router and install ddwrt on it. From there you can configure it to act as a wireless bridge/client.
I used a old WRT54G to hook my Xbox up wirelessly without spending 100 bucks on that wireless card thing.
How does a mac boot up (in detail)? I want to make a living document here to document the bootup process.
I know these parts are involved:
OldWorld ROM
OpenFirmware
Mac Toolbench (on ROM)
What i'd love to do is make/draw (over a long time) a platform MacOS will run on that isnt a Mac...
I've been on this quest to resurrect a Portable from motherboard death. A well-known portable collector gave me a box of motherboards from the non-backlit and the backlit series. I'm going through each of them and making lists to buy caps for these guys to fix them. Also documenting the PDS slot...
Man I have a Amiga 4000 in my storage unit. Video Toaster boards, OS 3.9, the Flyer board and this card called the Farajouda (sp) card that provides S-Video in/out for the Toaster.
The scandoubler didnt work, so im saving money for one of those doo-dads that clips on the Lisa chip
All you need is.... Appleshare 3 :)
Remote boot a IIgs over localtalk from a performa. I still have the software, but my IIgs and other stuff got stolen :(
I think i'm going to end up selling it...I really want a 2300 duo with a duo-dock. I had a whole MESS of Duo stuff, but my storage unit got robbed and most of my mac stuff got taken :(
next time that happens , run your finger along the top case of the TiBook. I have one that spazzes out every so often, and then with one finger running down the back of it, it'll straighten right up (back of the screen...or the lid)
