Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
I have not. My 3400Cs are all in bits. I'll try to find time to put one (mostly) together and check out @croissantking's wizardry. The 180c card he populated for me works great! 🙂
I've just come across in an old thread a remark by @Mac128 that "I have measured the cabinet and confirmed that the HD20 will accept a Widget drive. The HD20 is identical to the 20SC cases which were intended to take 3.5 & 5.25 inch full height drives. Likely why the HD20 was an inch taller...
Have you tried tracking down one of the Adaptec cards :

There's a boxed one not too far from you :

Aww... bummer. After stripping & cleaning mine, plus adding an 8-ball  [https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/better-trackball-for-kensington-turbo-mouse.46169/] - it's my favorite pointy device. I'd still like one, and will be happy to help with the journey - will at least be able to...
My 180C came with a partly populated Kingston (IIRC) card - a local wizard I know lifted chips from some other PB RAM cards I had and fully populated the 180C card to the max! 🙂
Not yet... got distracted with the PB 100 restoration, my PM8500 upgrade to dual 604s + BeOS, some early version BlueSCSI & SCSI2SD shenanigans (which impacted the PM8500 u/g ) ... so ... haven't popped open the 180C to fit that shiny new RAM card. Getting close, though, re-capping...
...cap leakage issues / other logicboard failures and general unreliability of SE/30s are what keeps me away from them. Not to dis the SE/30 (or 68k PowerBooks) but these old Macs are just that - old - so, routine TLC and preventative maintenance comes with the territory.
For me, my 68k...
They're not extortionately expensive either... you might get lucky with this one :

Or there's this one :

I've also seen them go with BIN for less than the latter one. Of course, YMMV.
Great, will do - depending on...
I have a couple of Kensington (Turbo Mouse?) and also a Logitech one - forget the name of the latter - all native ADB ones. Do you think either of these will work?
Oh my!... I totally lost track of this - sorry! If you could keep an earmark on one I will buzz out my connections. Will happily cover postage, etc. if it looks like it'll work.
How totally confusing! The second pic you linked does show "dots" near the chip corners which likely indicates PIN 1 position:
These do appear to coincide with your board, so I guess you're all good. Still... annoyingly confusing!
Just ran across this thread - neat! I have an original 'Mac' mouse for my Lisa, but @cheesey's pic has got me thinking about attaching one of my ADB trackballs... Are any of these still available?
In case you're still on the hunt - some inspiration?
