    AppleColor RGB Monitor Repair

Is this connected to a Mac or just running with no connections? Sometimes this looks normal when they are simply turned on but not connected to anything. With no connection there are no sync signals and nothing to blank the display, etc..so you are simply seeing a working CRT...

AA battery in 4.5V battery compartment?

It certainly won't hurt anything...but I'd be surprised if it works reliably over time. Most of those old CMOS chips needed about 3v minimally to hold reliably and usually tolerated up to 7.5 or 8 volts on the upper end. But if yours is holding with 1.5 count yourself lucky. Once the battery...

    SE/30 - Simasimac and a boot fail — I can't find the cause(s?)

Yup, that is the exact pattern mine did both times as well as others I have worked on in the past. What you are seeing is a pattern of default junk in the VRAM that is being displayed when no other data is being shifted into them. Sometimes the pattern might be slightly different but usually...

I have been redoing an Se/30 myself and at one point was getting the same symptoms as yours...

Powerbook 100 Schematic or Test Point Chart? tldr ;-)

Trying to repair a PB100 that sat stored away in a box and un-used for the last 15 years. Both the main battery and the storage internal cells had been removed before storage, so no battery leakage issues anywhere. When I first started the project, the minute you plugged it in without touching...

Mac SE/30 - analogue/logic board/psu recapped, now chimes but stuck at black screen

I know this is an older post, but had a similar issue on my Se/30 I recapped and turned out I had accidentally shorted a trace on I believe the positive end of C11 to the trace a hair's width from the through-hole. The solder on the top side of the board had barely nicked the trace but it was...
