I have a similar issue. My color classic boots, chimes and goes to a grey screen with a bluescsi and premade images from this mega archive. I've tried both the 7.1 and 7.5.3 images and both lock at a grey screen, without an sd card the color classic gets to a floppy disk icon obviously meaning...
didnt realise someone had modeled this. Hows the fit IRL?

Bluescsi is pretty nice just knowing its on flash memory and fairly reliable though I wouldnt be surprised if theres an issue with the design theres certainly a lack of passive components on...
So I setup a bluescsi and I'm struggling to load software onto it beyond the OS. Is there a way to get floppy images into the OS without using the floppy drive or floppy emu?
I actually met the previous owner and couldn’t have asked for a better person to buy off. After testing my ‘Macintosh classic’ logic board caps I’ve zero hope for the ones on this board so will be replacing those with kemet tantalum’s.
The AB on the color classic looks okay but has some signs...
Working now I still need to do a bit more but it’s all up from here. The hard drive is working but stalled at the ‘welcome to Macintosh’ screen on first boot and is quite loud.
I’ve swapped out the original fan for a Silverstone 60mm with a low noise adapter(I may remove that)
As there was...
I say working it boots from floppies a bit and has a broken hard drive, already tried replacing the rubber bumper with a tpu one but doesnt work. low impedance and esr arent the same, perhaps thats where you went wrong or just partially broken traces a miliohm meter could test that.
Thats...
I just picked up a color classic locally it turns on but gets stuck at a floppy drive icon(bad hdd obvs) and apparently boots off of floppys for whatever thats worth. I dont intend on using floppys instead replacing with bluescsi, possibly building a rascsi off of pcbway later.
I'm intending on...
Thats unusual for a switching power supply.
For the sake of a few days wait to when I can go to the component shop I'll leave it till then so I can replace dp3 and dp4 with new 1n4148 and octocoupler with a new cny17-3 as it seems a terrible idea to leave these and risk damaging the crt.
That’s all a bit imprecise. I just received a replacement tda4605 so have fitted that and got a ticking noise I think from the speaker.
just tested the board hoping everything would light up under the thermal camera and it’s now making a ticking noise, I don’t know if that’s normal...
I like fast SSDs as well but I like money more, bluescsi isnt exactly an immature project but its based around supporting macintosh and atari on budget parts which makes it awesome. There are faster stm32 chips than the cheap blue pill so perhaps we cam get an upgrade in the future.
In...
Any tips for reviving a Macintosh classic?
I just bought this with a bag, external drive, keyboard and mouse but it doesn’t power on at all completely dead.
Using a thermal camera on the analog board there’s zero activity on the D.C. side or crt side. I’ve assumed the issue is the common...
