    dead keyboard

I've got a macintosh keyboard with few unresponsive keys. I've totally dismantled it to clean it, I've even cleaned the microswitch but nothing has changed. Since all the keys are near and in the left side of the keyboard (see attached file, the red keys) I guess if it could be a problem with...

Compact "mix" (SE/30 + Classic II)

could it be (theoretically ) possible to "mix" the case of two different "compact" mac, let's say attach the front bezel of a Classic to a Macintosh SE/30 ?

Change keys to an apple keyboard II M0487

I would like to change some keys position in an Apple Keyboard II M0487.  It simply a matter to pull them or do I need to open the keyboard? Are they glued (don't think so, but...) ?

    Clean Mac SE/30 (no retrobright)

    Wow I am impressed!

why the SE/30 display has only two colours?

So what is exactly the system element that "restricted" the graphic to 1bit? The graphic chips? There's actually no other limitation on the se/30? Even the crt monitor is able to display grayscale.

why the SE/30 display has only two colours?

Why the SE/30 has only two colours? At that time a "real" monochrome screen (like a tv screen) was so expensive?

    Macintosh SE/30 replacement kit

    Do you know where I can find a capacitors kit (I mean every capacitors for the SE/30 all at once)?  Is this a good shopping list (from another thread here, not sure if is the "definitive" list)? : 10x 47µF (16V) - C1, C3, C4, C5, C7, C8, C9, C10, C12, C13 1x 1µF (50V) - C6 Replace with Axial...

    Clean Mac SE/30 (no retrobright)

CompuNurd, I've already opened the Mac SE/30 and removed the back side of the case. That's easy. Is the front place that's look a lot more harder to remove. Basically you have to take apart everything (PSU, screen, and so on). This is the "scary" part for me.  Actually I've even purchased...

    Clean Mac SE/30 (no retrobright)

Yes, CIF is quite common even here in Italy. I will try with it. I'm still a little bit scared to totally dismantle the SE/30. I usually do such things thanks to iFixt or other "step by step" detailed instructions. With SE/30 is surprisingly a little bit harder to find a detailed guide. Anyway...

    Clean Mac SE/30 (no retrobright)

Although the case is in overall good state, I would like to clean it a little bit.  It has some yellowing, but I don't dare to completely dismantle (mainly the front case) in order to do a retrobright session... maybe this summer... not sure yet. Meanwhile is there something I can do to clean...

Macintosh Color Classic in another case...

Could it be theoretically possible to put a Macintosh Color Classic into a Macintosh Classic case? I've seen a lot of monstrosity on the web: macintosh plus stuffed with mac mini or other mini atx motherboard, or macintosh classic transformed into iPad dock and so on. Now, I really hate the...

4mb ram or more (Mac SE/30)

Well actually the answer from takimoto was already what I was looking for. Anyway, as usual, you gave me a lot of interesting informations. Probably I will go with other 4x1mb now (8mb in total). It Well be enough to start playing. Then will see. Thanks

How to create OS 6 floppy in Yosemite

I see Elfen, thanks for your explanation. I've been able at least to create a bootable system 7.0 floppy. It works. And also trying to start the Mac OS installation *after* the boot, directly from Mac OS 6.0.8, works too (even if at the 3rd floppy it started to ask me for a floppy "unnamed" and...

4mb ram or more (Mac SE/30)

Thanks Takimoto. Now the point is: if I put 16mb or RAM into a Macintosh SE/30, will it "normally" boot (even using only 8mb of RAM) ?

4mb ram or more (Mac SE/30)

I was looking for a RAM upgrade for my Mac SE/30 (it has 4mb now). Since the RAM is relatively cheap, I guess if I should get 4x1mb or try to get something more. I know that SE/30 normally recognise only 8mb of RAM unless it has a modified ROM or the 32bit software patch.  The question is: if I...

How to create OS 6 floppy in Yosemite

Uhm, actually I've created many install floppy with Mac OS 7.01, 7.1 and 7.5.3. But I can't complete installation. The Mac starts from floppy, says "Welcome" but then I get a window without any text on it, and with the classic bomb icon. Even the button has no text.  This happens with almost...

    SE/30 with a smaller screen?

I was looking at the monitor of my new (and first) SE/30. Actually the screen looks smaller than what I believed, so I had a look around to other SE/30 pictures on internet. And actually let's compare these two images: The first one is an image I've found on internet. The screen seems large...
