Need a sound card for my Digital Audio G4

Hello. I picked up a 533Mhz Digital Audio for a few £'s recently with the intention of using it as a dedicated machine for my amateur radio station for digital modes, Now, I have an interface cable to hook my Yaesu HF rig to the computer but was stumped to find NO mic input on the bloody Mac! So...

Trying to make a Win98 boot disk for Apple PC card...

Thanks Mark. I've downloaded that, transported onto my 9600 via zip disk, moved into the Windows side by mounting the 2nd hard drive container and popping it there, unmounting, starting Windows and then moving to C:, and then unpacked it. Now what? hehe... When I doubleclick install.exe a little...

Trying to make a Win98 boot disk for Apple PC card...

Its the 166Mhz Pentium. 80MB RAM total. Mate, I'm a bit stuck, wonder if you can help... From the PC Card FAQ site: --- I understand how to set this up, the instructions are easy enough to follow, but I'm drawing a blank on the "standard PC ODI diskette" bit. I've been hitting Google for...

Trying to make a Win98 boot disk for Apple PC card...

Big thanks due to Mark here. He went to the trouble of running me off a Win98 boot disk and mailing it to me. You're a gentleman. Still wasn't straightforward though as the CD drivers on the new boot disk kept hanging the machine, so I had to boot with the boot disk that came with the Windows...

Trying to make a Win98 boot disk for Apple PC card...

Sorry for delayed reply, life has been busy! A welcome glut of paying clients popped up and I've been cramming for an amateur radio exam in all my spare time. Ho hum! Private message on way...

Trying to make a Win98 boot disk for Apple PC card...

Thanks for that, I may well take you up on that offer, I am completely Windowless here, so can't do it myself. I just find it maddening that I can't figure out how to do it on my 9600, it must be possible as the guy writing that site just nonchalantly throws in the comment "make a floppy from...

Trying to make a Win98 boot disk for Apple PC card...

Hello. I'm tearing my hair out here folks. I have a 9600 running 7.6.1, beast of a machine, flies. I have a PC compatibility card installed, the 166Mhz Pentium version. Following the steps on http://pccardfaq.com/ I have downloaded the drivers and the Win98 boot disk that the guy has made but am...

    Conquest: Powermac 9600

Have had a busy few weeks and haven't had much time to tinker with this beast but I've just managed to have a little play with her. OS7.6.1 is amazing on this monster. Everything happens INSTANTANEOUSLY! I run an expanded Amiga 1200 too and the Amiga OS is famous for being super responsive, and...

    Conquest: Powermac 9600

Morning folks. Yesterday was a good day... She arrived. It was just the 9600 tower that I'd bought, so hooked her up to my old Apple monitor and keyboard and mouse and... she works! Has 8 64MB sticks of RAM installed for 512MB RAM, but... I'd already lucked into some more RAM! Conquest 2 - 8...

    Conquest: Powermac 9600

Thanks for the tip on video cards, will look that up now. Yes, I'm going to have a small 7.6.1 partition for some ultra swift usage, and 9.2.2 on another.

    Conquest: Powermac 9600

Scored a 350Mhz 9600 over the weekend on ebay for £50. Has 2 4GB SCSI drives, 512MB RAM and zip, cd and floppy as standard. Quite pleased with myself, although I did bid more than I originally intended. But I'd had the thing in my watch list for the whole week and had slowly convinced myself of...

    Box o' mags

Actually got this about 3 years ago on ebay, 99p the lot. Brought them all home and stuffed em in a cupboard and forgot about them, until yesterday. Have almost a full run of MacUser UK from 91, 92 and 93 (a bunch of which were still in the wrapper, unopened), then a chunk of 97, 98, and then a...

Need advice re partitioning an existing partition

Thanks for all the info guys. Looks like it's easier to back up and start again! :-/ I really didn't want to admit defeat because I've got no straight forward way of backing up, or at least I thought until just now! I have a ibook G3 running 9.1 here, can I simply copy the contents of the...

Need advice re partitioning an existing partition

Hello. I've got a 2GB SCSI drive in my LCIII+ and I've got it split in two partitions, one 500MB and one 1.5GB. The 500MB partition has my 7.6.1 system installed on it. The other is blank. Now, what I want to do is further partition the 1.5GB partition into a couple of smaller chunks. But when...

    Using the iie emulator card

Isn't it more accurate to call it a hardware emulator? Seeing as its not strictly a iie on a card? I hold my hands up to the mealy mouthed thread title though! :p S

    Sonnet Presto

Nah, this is the only 68K Mac I have left, cleared out my collection a year or so ago, offloaded loads of machines. Kept the LCIII+ as it's long been my favourite. I'm calling it quits with this card. I do suspect it's not compatible with this machine as I have no reason to disbelieve the guy...

    Using the iie emulator card

Thanks for that guys. Building a cable is probably outside of my skill-set, not to mention patience threshold... anything fiddly and twiddly with wires drives me potty! But have archived that info for future reference. Now, if someone can get a deal on the connectors and can churn the cables...

    Using the iie emulator card

Awesome. Thanks for that! :D Yeah, I probably wouldn't be using it for games so the lack of a joystick wouldn't be too much of a bummer. What I'd like to use it for is reading ye olde Apple II diskmags! :D
