I think you mean MacsBug ;)
I don't think I can provide direct links, but a Google search for it and the word "download" turns up a number of sources. ;)
"Asante EtherTalk Installer 5.6.1" is what you're looking for regarding software. That plus the card itself should get you up and running. Into what system (machine/OS) are you installing the card?
Once again, thank you Dandu. The other Pippin ROM images floating out there were most likely also dumped with old tools, so they too ought to be redumped with the MacRelix software for posterity, but your 1.3 ROM is probably the most valuable.
Anybody have any ideas on how to verify this...
AFAIK the PowerPC chips used in Macs don't include virtualization extensions similar to those in x86 chips that virtualization software like QEMU or KVM takes advantage of, so unless you use something like Mac-on-Linux on a Linux host (which appears to be a special case) you're limited to...
Anonymous Freak: how much of a hurry are you in? I'm currently in the process of decommissioning my Xserve G4 (it has outgrown its usefulness for me) so when that process is done, you can have it for the price of shipping. Works great. :)
Do you think you could make a second dump using a different tool? Try using the ROM dumper from MacRelix: http://www.macrelix.org/pub/MacRelix-ROM-copier.mbin It should read past 3MB to get a complete image. (That's a MacBinary file, so you'll have to decode it using either MacBinary or I think...
What version of System? MacsBug I've found is a bit particular with what System it will work with-- I have a pretty tiny MacsBug 5 but System 6 won't touch anything less than MacsBug 6. MacsBug 6.2.2(?) is small enough that it works on my 1MB Plus.
I have the 400Mhz Sonnet G3 installed in mine-- there is a CDEV you can get I believe called "Sonnet Overclock" that should let you overclock the accelerator to 500 or beyond, but I haven't tried it yet.
I did pick up a Farallon 10/100bT CS II Ethernet card a few years ago to max out its...
Hi all, about a month ago I bought a very nice Lisa 2 + Profile drive from a gentleman in the San Jose area. Original keyboard, original mouse, anti-glare filter(? I've never seen a Lisa with one of these-- maybe aftermarket?) and a box full of floppies! Lisa Office is in there obviously, but a...
Not quite. One of the iMac firmware upgrades also replaced the Mac OS ROM file with a newer version lacking the .Sony driver, but by reinstalling Mac OS ROM 1.1.5 you can get that functionality back *with* the newer firmware. No motherboard downgrading necessary. :)...
That's not a Voodoo II card, that's a Griffin iPort. It's not a *Mezzanine* card per se-- it just happens to use that panel and some of the area reserved for a Mezzanine slot (both the iPort and a Mezz card cannot take up the same space at the same time). The iPort itself is powered by the...
Are you able to boot from either of those images? When I use the Mac OS ROM file from either of them (version 1.4) then all I get at startup is the blinking question mark folder.
I'm pretty sure I need Mac OS ROM version 2.3.1 *specifically,* as this is what shipped with the machine.
8.6 should work on either the Tangerine or the Blueberry models, since those were both the original models. What ROM are you using? What do you mean "generic 8.6"-- as far as I know, 8.6 was never sold by itself...
