    Honda Accord 1997. 126,725 miles

Actually, how long ARE auto trannies supposed to go between major overhauls? 150-200K miles seems pretty good to me. Not that I'd want to buy one with an auto trans in it.

    Honda Accord 1997. 126,725 miles

Naw, it just works out that way, because who else can justify a car that just (barely) holds 2 adults and not much cargo? Your teen years don't count because there's usually the need for parental approval.

My pocket knife is bigger than yours

Found it on eBay with a $5 starting bid price and eventually got it for a bit under $12 + shipping:

    Cheap stuff!

Thank you for supporting my investment in NFM [:D] ]'>

    iMac G3 opinion

If you really just want to own a G3 iMac, and particularly if it's one of the more collectable color variations, like "Flower Power" or "Blue Dalmation", sure, go ahead. Try not to ship a slot-loader as the internal plastics turn brittle with age, and you will likely receive a parcel of shards...

Free boxed Canon Cat and printer!

A very nice catch indeed! Photos pleaase. I don't know how many people are going to pay thousands of Euros, Dollars or whatever for one, however.

    ThinkPad 365XD

I know that machine very well, and by the time I finally sold it, mine had been mended many times but still looked pretty good and worked perfectly. Should be no big deal to rebuild the battery pack because it's nimh. Battery life was never sterling though.

    Canon PowerShot A630 $70

Speaking from personal experience, arranging a sale or even a giveaway can be a lot of extra work, so I kind of understand why things still worth hundreds of dollars can be simply dumpstered--but I still don't approve of it either. Nice "free" camera BTW! I think it will work with the CHDK...

Not computer related at all, but....

Medium format's not THAT expensive anymore. I'd rather have a Hasselblad or Rolleiflex myself (or a Mamiya or Bronica for that matter) but if you got less than $300 to spend on a complete starter outfit, you could buy a Kiev 60 from Mikhail Fourman...

Not computer related at all, but....

Ooh neat piezo fan in your Flickr gallery! I haven't seen one of those things in years. Guess it didn't work so well.

How do you feel about old software licenses?

Beyond a certain point, I think "anything goes".

    More pallets tomorrow

Neat, but those don't look like Quicksilvers? Seems like an awful lot of work just hauling the stuff around: Do you have a forklift or at least a pallet jack and a good-sized truck?

Picking up some awesome pallets tomorrow

Is that a Kensingon System Saver that I see with the A2E? Ugly-looking thing, but I began to see it as a thing of beauty because it kept my Apple from crashing due to overheating. Let me know if you ever find an original Ergotron Mactilt stand for 128/512K: I could use one of those things.

    U.S. Robotics External 56.6k Serial Modem x2 :D

USR didn't cut corners on those guys--even the serial ports offered the fastest transfer rates--230K vs 115K for just about everyone else's.

    New camera and computer speakers!

It's a little bit dated now, but pretty well-made and very clever (the "film rewind knob" serves as one of the major controls!). Maybe 18 months ago, you could still buy one as a refurb directly from Epson for $1500. Friend of mine bought one when it first came out.

    U.S. Robotics External 56.6k Serial Modem x2 :D

USR Sportsters were the consumer-grade stuff, but the Courier V.Everythings were the pro models and among the best you could buy. I kept mine for years and only thrifted it within the last year or so.

    I got hosed.

Although this item was sold "as is", the seller also said it "boots in Mac OS 9...", but obviously, it doesn't boot in that, or anything else. Who knows, maybe that can serve as a loophole for you. But is there a fuse in there somewhere? I've had instances were fuses simply failed from the gear...

    New camera and computer speakers!

Rangefinder cameras are a more specialized tool, and not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm kind of fond of them myself. Would not mind trying a Sony or Pentax DSLR, but so far haven't found anyone who cares to loan one to me.

    Speaking of cameras...

Is film making a comeback? Here I've got all this film stuff that I never got around to unloading, and am I suddenly cutting-edge? [:D] ]'> [:D] ]'> I got: LPL/Saunders 4550XL 4x5 enlarger with color and VC modules Schneider Componon-S 50 and 80 mm lenses Fujinon-EX 135mm lens...

Yes, but photography is what I do 7 days a week.
