    Solar Bookcover for PB 1400

A former employer was a KISS dealer, but I never got to see that particular product, 'cause they just drop-shipped the things directly to the customer. More fashion statement than anything else, you'd some how have to provide full sunlight to the thing, and even then, it'll only extend run times...

    Vintage Nikon camera

Actually, these reissues are common on eBay, and the few which sell aren't fetching anywhere near that original price, and original chrome ones w/lens also seem to be selling for a lot less than they might have 2-5 years ago. A buddy of mine said he just got a Canon 7 a few weeks ago, but I...

    Vintage Nikon camera

Alright, this conquest actually belongs to a friend of mine, but I thought it was a hoot: The Nikon SP was last manufactured in either the late 1950s or early 1960s, and it's highly collectable, particularly in black. A few years ago, Nikon unearthed the original tooling for the camera and...

Nicest Classic II I've seen in awhile

Fellow MLAer antoine64 sent me this Classic II in trade for a Cube power supply, and the plastics are just about perfect! Only tiny and faint marks on it, the rubber feet are all there. Sort of yellowed, but probably nothing that peroxide + oxy bleach won't lift right off.

    Macintosh 512k!!! EDIT: <POP>

By the way, you probably already know this, but a standard phone cable won't work because it's wired differently, but it's definitely something you can fix yourself if you have some RJ11 plugs and a crimper.

    Macintosh 512k!!! EDIT: <POP>

The 512K was my first Mac too! Cost me almost $2K before taxes for just the single-floppy system with MacWrite and MacPaint. Great that you have the accessory kit: I really liked the way they packaged the thing.

Why broken Macs are a better deal

Nice! But I don't know that I would've taken a $569 chance like that myself.

    Is this a decent price?

Got a number of G5 towers at the office, some of which have been running continuously for years. Not a single problem.

    Is this a decent price?

Don't touch G5 iMacs, too many problems. If you really want a G5, buy a Power Mac. So far, no problems with the Intel iMacs.

    Apple IIe SSD

Wow, I thought the Apple 2 series was pretty much obsolete by the time IDE came around. And how did you format a 16 mb volume?

NIB Sega Saturn from Circuit City

Probably not a Circuit City item, but rather, something that came from the liquidator. Did you buy it?

    New Suv

Wow, that's pretty nice, but why does it have a salvage title? It wouldn't happen to be from New Orleans, would it?

    ibook G4 800 mhz

Maybe not from Apple, but you can get suitable drives >200 gigabytes from Western Digital. Kind of a fuss to disassemble an iBook, so may as well do that and maybe upgrade to a Superdrive at the same time.

    ibook G4 800 mhz

Mine worked great and I got a lot of use out of it. Maybe max out the ram and hard drive (1024M and ~250 G, respectively) while the parts are readily available?

    Micro R/C helicopters!

I sort of went crazy over these things last week, but I'm all better now [:D] ]'> I am amazed at how much technology one gets for the hobby dollar these days. All carbon fiber, super mini gyroscopes, micro motors, lithium polymer batteries and newfangled 2.4 ghz digital radio. The white and...

    PC, Playstation

The original PS/1 is supposed to be really good-sounding as an audio CD player, and in fact, it got a writeup in Stereophile magazine earlier this year.

    HP Dreamcolor monitor!

Does Dreamworks Entertainment qualify as "broadcast"? Dunno if they actually used the things in the making of Kung Fu Panda, but they certainly do a bit of product placement for HP in the making-of features. Remember too that it's only 1900 x 1280 and sells for a hundreds more than a 30" Cinema...

    HP Dreamcolor monitor!

In person, I think the monitor tends slightly to the warmer side, but not quite pink as it appears here: No shortage of ports on the bottom of this thing! I'm a little surprised they are using RCA jacks and not BNC: Not quite "consumer":

    HP Dreamcolor monitor!

You'll have to settle for a photo taken with my Sony digicam under bad light [:I] ]'> Looks like the Dreamcolors will be used to aid in medical diagnostics! We had met with the Nikon microscope rep awhile back and among other things ended up buying Coolscope II remote-controlled...

    HP Dreamcolor monitor!

Okay, not mine, but I got to play with 'em [:D] ]'> The other day, a couple of HP boxes arrived at the office. Boxes seemed awfully big and heavy for 24" LCD monitors, and in fact, one of the handholds on the box tears, and I drop the thing! Get it into the server room and am recording the...
