At least the machines you have dying are PCs.
Since I joined this board a few weeks ago, I've found out that my 9600 was dead, that my IIci was near death, and had the 3400c I bought last week die within hours of receiving it.
That leaves my LC III and 512k. The LC III is already displaying...
When I powered down for the final time, the battery still had well over 30% charge and it was no more than an hour later when I attempted and failed to boot it up again.
I reset the PMU earlier to no avail. And even with the battery and CD out, it still wont power on.
I picked up a 3400 on eBay a week or two ago. It was sold w/o an ac adapter but w/ a charged battery.
When it arrived, I played with it a bit, booting it up on two occasions.
After shutting it down following the last time I tinkered with it, I removed the CD drive just for shits and popped it...
The alternative to beige would be what, exactly? Black?
I would rather have a PC in a well built beige/black case than some horribly built colorful/lit-up/space-age looking case made from recycled North Korean pop cans and paper thin plastic.
The MAXpowr is a 400MHz G3 and the Carrier has an Apple OEM 350MHz G3 ZIF.
I've set the MAXpowr to on-off-off-on, as well as other settings, but the machine wont even chime with it installed and hasn't yet. But I still get HD activity.
The Carrier, I've set using this. This card always gives...
The video cable is fine. The monitor is fine. The video connector is fine. The display is VGA and I'm using the VGA on the card. The hard drive is blank, but it shouldn't stop me from getting a signal. And it's a plain old Radeon Mac Edition, I just call it a 7200 as ATi renamed it such upon the...
No attitude was given until it was prompted by equill's, but whatever.
There was more than one model of PowerTower Pro in the same way that there was more than one model of the Power Mac 9600; there wasn't. Only different processor/RAM/HD configurations - same machine.
Regardless, let's move...
I went off of this; http://www.macgurus.com/products/motherboards/graphics/pm9600.gif
Feel free to cease contributing to my 9600 thread. I think I'd rather trash the thing than accept your help in getting it running.
Yes, I've worked the CPU cards in well enough. And it is chiming so I don't think the problem lies there.
Specifically, I'm getting no video signal whatsoever. My display just remains asleep. And there's nothing wrong with the display.
Power on > Chime > Hard drive spin-up > Hard...
Specs in my signature;
Today, my CPU cards arrived in the mail and they were the last parts I was waiting on in order to make my 9600 operational again.
But I seem to have problems getting a video signal.
I've cut down to 1 stick of RAM, used in various slots, swapped out with other...
