    Developers You Could Do Without!

I remember Sierra back around 97-2000. They put out some very raunchy junk for Windows. It was spectacularily horrible.

    Delicious tangerine!

I admit it, the Tangerine is my favorite colour. :)

    Potential Big haul

This isn't something I've scored, but am thinking about. Problem is, yeah I can probably scrounge up the money in a few weeks. I'm really interested in keyboards, mice, external drives, cables, the SE, and the CI, but some of it doesn't work (doesn't say which) and I don't want or need all...

    Zip disks

Good find, actually. I actually need a few to go along with my ext-Scsi ZIP to backup software of some recent finds. Where did you get them? Craigslist? GarageSale? Discount Store?

    Laptop stuff

Not really. Most corps have individual limits for things like mail, requiring use of outlook .pst's and such on the local computer which must be kept. Especially for remote users, it's not really feasible to back these up. Also, even personal files can be subject to archiving for legal and...

    Big Day on Thurdsay

    More PC Stuff...

Those were the nice Celerons. In some things they offered better performance since the cache was significantly faster than the Pentium II equivalent.

    Big Day on Thurdsay

Here's an update all. The iMac is hopeless. Given the fact that they are plentifull around here I'll probably recycle the shell unless i can find a new flyback part cheap as I don't mind venturing into soldering work a bit, but spending $70 on a sub-$50 machine when I could fail to do the...

    Big Day on Thurdsay

Eariler in the week, was speaking by email with someone who had an old Mac she had picked up for her daughter. When she got it home, she realized it was useless to her as it lacked any sort of optical drive and USB. she offered it on craigslist for naught and I responded. I was set to pick it...

Jobs Super Computer Not So Super?

It was a game of semantics. The gigaflops hyperbole was, and is usually about theoretical maximums. To put things in perspective, a Pentium III @400mhz could in theory reach 1.6 gigaflops and a similarly clocked G4 was likewise theoretically capable of 3.2. Using even finer technicalities...
