ugg the one other place I thought I could get one was a bit overpriced for me (IE over half of the price I have seen lisa's for) I guess I will keep looking. I did find some great High res pictures of the keyboard pcb incase anyone needs to see them http://www.kbdbabel.org/lisa/ I guess they...
I thought they had sold off all there stuff I tried going there this morning and there site was unresponsive. just the top of the site with the name and links. it used to also forward to another website http://www.cherokeedata.com/ a while back when I went there.
So strange, I left it unplugged for over a day to dissipate opened it up today and discharged the crt. then I took the paper cover off from the analog board. I see and hear a spark from around the transistor that is located by c40 and r41 on the back of the board and shortly after another. It...
ok sorry i did not see it before :) . I need sleep soon too much excitement getting my lisa fixed and on for the first time in about 2 years since I found it. Thanks for pointing out what I should search for.
I think it was doing this before, when I turned it on I saw the disk ? as expected but then the picture faded off. I could hear some small cracks or sparks at the start of the power abruptly ended shortly after, does this just sound like bad caps? I seep to recall it not fading off before but...
well with some help from lisa list and you guess as well as lucky guessing I went with my gut and just replaced Q5 and nothing else and it worked! yeah now I need a keyboard and mouse.
the only part the "looks" questionable is Q5 it has a lot of strange looking stuff around the top, It might just be from the installation?
If I have them I might just change out some of the caps and possibly Q5
cool thanks we will see today (I hope) to open it up and do some tests. Less then 24 hours after running it I discharged the crt and not even the faintest zap, although they do not always do this it just seems to fuel my speculation of the HV not working, but we will see. I will be removing...
I am in the same boat not having a HD I was considering making a IDEFILE http://john.ccac.rwth-aachen.de:8000/patrick/idefile.htm and sorry for reviving this several month old thread. but if you get the GAL from him he has to ship from Germany so it may be worth ordering them at the same time...
cool Thank youl I like to use what I have and not have to make a special order, I am going to be using nails for j1 until I get a real one. And I think I found a way to repair the battery holder, I used vinegar to neutralize the acid on it and I am going to solder in some metal plates that...
Quick stupid question I am in need of C6 and its a 22uf 50v and I have 2 10uf and a 2.2uf that are 50 or higher volts will the extra 0.2uf going to be too much extra tolerance for the 512k if I install them in parellel? I can always use 2 1uf ones but I would like to put as few in there as...
I thought one of the chips on the cpu board looked beat up so on a whim I took it out and switched it with two from my spare cpu board. the one I took out had two bent pins on it (do not know if this was intentional from the last person) and now it boots and with the help of the lisalist have...
I will look into it, I doubt it though since the display I was using was though an external cable so I adjusted the external monitor to get that picture up. What does a lisa do without the keyboard/mouse/HD/disk when you turn it on? I still do not know if my I/O board is complete. for...
Ok I have asked at the lisa list but I will also ask here (68kmla has always been so helpful) so if you are part of the lisa list I am sorry you have to read this twice. I have been working on a lisa 2/5 I have had for a while as a
hobby. I have not touched it in a while and lately I have...
After looking over the usb connection on the ADC connector I am stuck trying to figure out where the 5vdc comes from there are TMDS Data5+/- pins but I do not think they are for the usb hub I am left with
2. yellow adc pin 19 DDC CLOCK
3. blue adc pin 9 DDC Data
4. orange adc pin 3 LED
5...
This is one of my more knowledgeable areas. some of the older ones allow playback of cd-r games that are kind of a pair to burn (they are not cds but gcd but I won't get into the specifics) But on mine I have a sega geneses emulator, snes as well as a nes (I own all the systems and games...
interesting. I found that the huge ic on the board is a MC68HC908BD48 Microcontroller Unit that has usb data outputs, it connects directly to DM3 and DP3 so it would seem I am on the right track, this also means that even though the brightness control board and the power board are the same...
I did get one for the isp1122a (that is actually how I found it) and it has the same shape and the same number of pins and it does seem to connect to the two usb ports with DM1 DP1 DM2 DP2 with DP0 DM0 being upstream so I should guess that DM3, DP3 are connected to the brightness, but what I am...
