Posting FWIW...Several years ago I made a riser for the SE/30 MB by stacking several 120 pin connectors together to raise an Asante NIC. THe thread is on Apple Fritter. It seems that over time many of the images seem to have dropped out of the thread. This shot shows several of the straight...
Back when I was poking around at this project I tried tweaking the init ResEdit and had no luck. My only experience with ResEdit is limited to the Gamba hack to get 7.6 and 8 running on a SE/30. I found Super ResEdit here http://www.macgui.com/downloads/?file_id=22382...is it preferable to plain...
Hi All,
I have some time this holiday weekend to revisit some of my vintage Mac projects. Since I posted this I have acquired a IIsi ROM and I am still getting the same error shown above. I think I need to continue exploring the possibility of hacking the Carrera CP and Init so I started a...
Hi All,
My vintage Mac projects has been sidelined due to kids and other life stuff...
A few years back back I posted here about my trials with some parts that could possibly achieve a SE/40 with an Xceed card and Carrera040 accelerator. The thread is distilled down to that the Xceed+Carrera...
FWIW, Belkin made an adapter that allowed use of a PS/2 KB on an ADB Mac. I did a bit of searching and could not find the part number. I grabbed a couple of these off of Ebay a few years back. I will snap a photo when I can lay my hands on these.
Hello,
I have a solid collection of mac word processing software for my SE/30 and I have read about Nisus Writer being a nice package. I have googled a bit and it appears that Nisus Witer 3.0.6 is the last version that could run on a SE/30. Can anyone confirm this? I was hoping that this...
My Acard AEC-7720U scsi to ide card has a connection that drives an LED. When I had this installed with a 3.5 inch IBM 7200 IDE drive in my SE/30, I had the drive mounted backwards in the drive sled so that the Acard and drive power and scsi connections were pointing towards the front of the...
It will be interesting to see how much this one goes for:
Micron Xceed Color30HR in BOX w/all inserts & greyscale
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130350449144
I too have an ACARD AEC-7720U that runs flawlessly in my SE/30 or IIsi with a 3.5" 20GB IBM 7200 RPM drive or a 2.5" 9GB IBM 5400 RPM laptop drive with an IDE converter. I'd be interested to see if anyone has tried one of these Transcend IDE flash modules with the AEC SCSI-to-IDE card. Buy.com...
There is not a separate driver, rather a single control panel and init that work for all of the supported macs of which the SE/30 is not on the supported list... Here is the download from Mac Driver Museum
Thanks tl and JDW. I did recently acquire a IIsi ROM off Ebay (first one I have seen in years of looking) and unfortunately it was a dud: http://68kmla.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=10589
I don't suppose that anyone has an extra IIsi ROM that they would be willing to trade for a IIfx...
Hello,
A year or so ago I purchased a grab bag of parts on Ebay that included a MicroMac Carrera040 http://micromac.com/products/carrera040.html. The card is the 33mhz model designed for a IIsi and comes with an adapter card similar to the Daystar IIsi adapter that as a lower PDS slot for the...
I counted 3 row of 40 pins which is a PDS connector, not a Nubus. So this would add an FPU to the IIsi that doesn't have one and allows one to keep the PDS slot for an ethernet or video card...I get it. THx
Anyone know what this is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370246807920
It looks about the size of an Asante network card and is that a math coprocessor soldered to the board?
THx for the suggestion JLR. With the IIsi ROM installed minus all RAM and the HD I still get the chime of death. The display looks like the early SimasiMac shown here: http://www.biwa.ne.jp/~shamada/fullmac/repairEng.html#SimasiMac I also swapped out the battery to see if that made any...
A couple of weeks ago a IIsi ROM SIM appeared on Ebay with buy it now and I promptly grabbed it for my SE/30. The SIM arrived in an anti-static bag and was nicely packed. After discharging the CRT in my SE/30 I pulled my recently recapped motherboard out and swapped out the IIfx that had been...
