    Less Spam?

Ok, now i'm probably not the best person to say this, but the IRC channel has become a bit too....spammy and annoying. i realize that i am a big part of the problem, i almost never have anything valid to add to the conversation but i'm also certainly not the only one. i think we need to just...

    IRC

sure it would. just replace the cabin with the engine, and then duct-tape a seat to the headers. problem solved.

    I'm Sorry ....

eh, sorry to hear that. i could say some rather obvious critical stuff about that situation, but i don't think it would really be necessary. hope you can get something going.

sounds more like you have a cookie storage problem. whats your main web-browsing machine?

    Mozilla and iTunes questions

honestly its because Mozilla was never really optimized for classic MacOS, and the result is, as you found out, it runs horribly. also, the 6200 will be extremely slow on the internet no matter what browser you use, its a horribly engineered machine.

    Credit Where Credit Is Due

i'm not entirely sure what the big deal is. why do people feel they need to copyright things such as information on the Lisa? the whole point of this community is to preserve the history of Apple Computer, not copyright it as our own. the only thing i would be completely against copying is...

What part of the iMac is on its way out now?

well yeah...those G3's put out next to no heat, in fact if you open them up you'll find that the heatsink is TINY! its amazing to me that it dissipates heat at all :p .

    OS on a 6500

yerp, both of you is right. instead of 8mb onboard ram, the 6500 series get 2MB dedicated VRAM and a RAGE II chip.

What part of the iMac is on its way out now?

no...this is a known problem with tray-load imacs. i can't remember what the exact cause is, but iirc its a little circuit board which controls the power to the CRT display, and if you replace the board it almost always fixes the problem. i'll try to dig up some info later.

    wanted: your help!

I've added a small entry for the Message Pad 120 in between classes. I'll see if i can add more later.

    OS on a 6500

yeah you can, using XPostFacto, but it will be horrendously slow. you will also need to make sure that you have the RAM maxed out to 128MB, otherwise it will be basically unusable. and the machine works best with OS 8.6, thats what i have installed on my 225MHz variant. runs solid as a rock...

How do you feel about the logging of the #68kmla irc room?

well i mean its public anyways...if they wanted privacy they could just go to another channel lol. i think its a basic problem of "supposed anonymity", i mean i'm sure there are client-side loggers already in action AND since most of the time the conversation turns into an elongated "UR M0M"...
