Except that only works if you already have a G4 Tower, and RedJack states he has a G4 Powerbook. The upgrades are also pretty pricey, so you're still looking at around $100-500 for the machine then another $100-400 for the ugprade, depending on which chip you get, and thats not including a...
Actually the problem isn't the hoses, its the seals on the bottom of the LCU which make contact with the processors themselves. Its a really cheap o-ring and the liquid inside the LCU is corrosive, stinks, stings your skin, and looks like yellow milk. If you don't look out for it, this will...
that may very well be, but G5's are still not cheap and considering how much more powerful even the first-gen 32bit Intels are (unless you plan on getting a last-generation G5, which are even more expensive), a used Intel Mac is just a more practical purchase at this point.
Now, if Classic...
Yeah does the same for my Pismo.
If it works in safe mode then you might consider target-disking it to another machine and re-applying the 10.3.9 combined update from that machine to the Pismo. Doing so for 10.4.9/10/11 has solved several issues for me in the past, and might work for you in...
Intel. I'm not even sure why a G5 is still a consideration at this point. Unless you just really like the PPC platform, 2 internal HD limit, purchased obsolescence, and knifing yourself in the face, an Intel machines is the way to go.
if virii, pop-up windows, and spam are issues for you, you're clearly doing the internet wrong. Especially if we go with the whole "You know what you're doing" thing. Avatars are only fixed by image blockers.
Censorship exists in all things, but I have yet to see censorship be an active...
ahh actually no. I have a rev a gossamer and it came with a SCSI drive and no IDE drive at all. we later added a 40GB IDE drive, but when time came to put OSX on it we had to buy a 9GB SCSI drive because it would not work off of the IDE drive.
are the beiges able to boot off of an ATA drive at all? I have a 266 Desktop and it will not boot off of any devices not on the 50-pin SCSI bus, and even then it will only recognize a primary partition of up to 8GB, even if the drive is bigger. The 8GB limitation is a problem with Revision A...
No, its working fine under 10.2 so I'd just as soon leave it alone without some actual notion that it will work under 10.1
Really I'm just looking to see if anybody else has run into issues with a temp/133 card and 10.1 and how/if they got around it. If not then its not really a big deal.
So I have a copy of 10.1 Unlimited Client Server and I thought it would be a hoot to install it on my Yosemite as it is very quiet, sucks up a max of 200w and has a monitor power passthrough socket/port/jack/whatever. I have my website and other various data server files on a 200GB WD drive so...
This is the internet. People can say whatever they want, that is kind of the point.
And since it clearly bothered you so much I'm going to point and laugh.
lol.
OK clearly I'm late to this lolfest, but i turn computers on whilst their innards are all exposed all the damn time. Especially in laptops its nice to know that you didn't accidentally, say, leave the inverter plug hanging or one of the speakers disconnected prior to putting all 340 screws back...
