    Welcome back!

I changed to SubSilver. It is MUCH better in terms of layout. :)

    68k Macs for photographic work

The 1400 is more that suitable for scanning and manipulating images. It's screen just isn't the best for such work. I don't need any other computer to scan pictures with now though as I have the scanner connected to my fast PC. I only used it on the PowerBook whilst I was sorting out a SCSI...

    68k Macs for photographic work

I was wondering if anyone here had used 68k macs for working with photographs? I was wondering this because I recently bought a Minolta Dimage Scan Dual film scanner to scan my photos into the computer as I tend to use film these days, rather than digital. This model, whilst doing a very good...

    Welcome back!

Ew. I don't exactly have anything against the new phpBB3 theme, but more about how it compares to what was used previsouly. I would much prefer to have a theme similar to the old one, but as has been mentioned, a System 7 type theme would be much more appropriate. I know moving the poster...

    Newton MessagePad 120

I got my 120 last week :) I am getting there with finding my way around it now. It has been quite useful, but the handwriting recognition is a bit rubbish. I'm guessing that is because, being a german model, it compares my words to german ones and not english ones. I am quite happy with just...

    Newton MessagePad 120

No perticular reason. The fact that is was a good price and came boxed and in mint condition were good. A 2000/2100 would have been good but they tend to be rather expensive and I don't really need it to be very fast. I would just like to be able to make notes and do writing and whatnot on it...

    Newton MessagePad 120

I just thought I would mention that I bought a MessagePad 120 recently. I havn't recieved it yet. It will probably come next week as it is coming from Spain. It is boxed and in mint condition. Only issue is that it is the german model, but that is fine. I'll post more when I get it. I expect...

    68k mac emulation

I was just wondering if anyone here who doesn't own any 68k macs uses emulators. I have been using 68k emulators such as BasiliskII on Windows since several years ago. Since then I have owned one 68k mac but I no longer own it and use a PPC system for most of my Mac stuff, but I do still get...

How do you feel about old software licenses?

I selected download without thinking twice. It really depends on how desperate I am for the software, e.g. Do I need it today? Will I use it much? Then there is the situation of is it avaliable? If I can get a second hand copy at a reasonable price I would be quite tempted to go for it...

spastic Apple 17" Studio Display (B&W CRT)

Click-zoom. Thats sounds rather similar to what my new Sony display does. It usually does this after it has flickered a bit and gone blurred. I've had trouble finding information about it. I'm guessing that these problems would be caused by the same things on different monitors. If anyone has...

    My68kSpace

I intend to do some stuff for my own website with Claris Home Page in the near future. I would be interested in making some kind of 68k/PPC friendly site which could be used by uses of systems that don't have fast processors/don't have much support for CSS and PHP. Not limited to Macs.

    My68kSpace

That would be quite good as long as the emphisis is on 68k (and maybe old PPC) Macs, and as long as the site is fully compatible with these. e.g. I would expect to be able to use it without problem on a 68k Mac. I agree with paws that some kind of programme which could be run on the computer...

    Claris Home Page

Sounds quite good. I have Claris Home Page 2 on the Macintosh, and some older version on the PC, so i will need to find version 3. Boxed Claris Software seems quite hard to find here. If I were to make a simple dynamic site using Filemaker, would that require filemaker software to be installed...

    Claris Home Page

Have many people here used Claris Home Page? If so, what do you think of it? I was thinking about using it to make my new website so I would like to here other people's opinion on it. Also, am I right in thinking that version 3 is the latest version?

    PowerBook 1400 cells

Ah. I see whats happening now. I did think this seemed a bit simpler than when I last thought about it last year.

    PowerBook 1400 cells

I was looking at the ones on this page because they have tags on: http://www.rapidonline.com/Electrical-Power/Batteries/Nickel-Hydride/Nickel-metal-hydride-batteries-(industrial-sizes)/77632/kw/183870#techspec

    PowerBook 1400 cells

Well, there are 8 cells, and if the cells were 1500mAh which are listed in the catalogue, the total would be 12000mAh. Smaller cells are avaliable. Supplier is http://www.rapidonline.com

    PowerBook 1400 cells

So, if I used the 1500mAh cells, that would give a total of about 12000mAh. Wouldn't that take way too long to charge though, even if it did last longer?
