I see,
would this work on the se/30:

?
Also if you say it can be upgraded to 128, but accepts only 16 mb simms or lower, how do you make it...
I've recently picked up an SE/30 with a mere 2 mb of ram. I was wondering which type of ram do I need in order to extend it, and well where can I get it.
Thanks
Unfortunately I discovered the retrochallenge when it had already ended.
I was wondering if any similar competitions would be organised before next years' retrochallenge? Perhaps something smaller, organised through the forum?
I know the macbook has auto-MDX, i've been using a normal cable. Unfortunately I don't have a copy of os 8.1, and i really would like to stick with system 7.5. I see the ftp option more attractive, but I can't get them to ping each other.
So basically the problem now is to get them to talk to...
I'm using 7.5.3. I'm not using appleshare, I'm using afp over ethernet.
The thing that puzzles me the most is that if i assign ips to both machines they can't ping each other (which means i can't se ftp).
I'm trying to connect my powerbook 190cs to my macbook. They're connected through ethernet. I have install openstransport and i'm using tcp/ip on appletalk. However even though both machines see each other, they say that the afp version is not compatible with each other. The same message I got...
I know there have been some threads related to batterries and compact macs, and if they should be removed for storage, so forgive me if I'm repeating myself.
I have quite a few compact macs, and unfortunately due to limited space I have to store about half of them. Besides the obvious advice of...
Thanks for the info, as soon as I get a T15 screwdriver long enough I'll have a look. Is there a serious risk in not discharging the CRt?
I've heard that if you leave it off without power a couple of days it would discharge itself.
Btw. Is there any diagram available to illustrate further?
As far as logic board goes, is the plus to fragile to have it all day on? Has anybody tried it on?
What would be best (in order of durability) a plus, SE or Classic?
Basicallly, if I understand correctly, I could get a zip 250 mb and use it as a zip 100 (ie using its driver) on system 6?
I don't mind if it just works as a zip 100 on system 6. I'm trying to decide what to get, if I zip 100 or a zip 250. I want it to be able to boot system 6, and well I can...
Well I'm interested in it working with system 6 if possible. DOes the 250 work with it then?
And if so, where are the drivers? are the the same ones?
I'm interested in booting my plus from the zip drive if possible

A few questions about the zip drive on an old compact mac:
Is it possible to hook up a 250mb scsi zip drive on to a mac Se/30?
Does any SCSI 100mb zip drive work with the Se/30?
Thanks
to change the floppy drive of the se/30, do I have to remove the logic board? Is there any website with info on how to dissasemble an se/30? I tried accessing the service manuals on the apple FTP but they either are not available any more or the FTP is painfully slow. Anyway thanks for the help
