    apple ii monitors, video out

I'm still looking for an option. The most plausible one seems to be getting a composite monitor. So far i haven't found any that was cheap enough on ebay. I do like the idea of getting a composite video capture for my macbook. However, I haven't found any for mac that are not worth more than £50...

    apple ii monitors, video out

Hi, unfortunately i have no tv (i don't want to pay the tv license!), which means I find it complicated to use apple IIs. I have the posibility of getting a IIe but it has no monitor. I was wondering if all apple II monitors are compatible. FOr example, can I connect an apple IIc monitor to an...

    Two PB190s

I have a powerbook 190cs which is actually my main 68k machine. I have a good ethernet pcmcia card so I can connect it to my network and copy files there. I also use it as a localtalk bridge between my wifi network and my old localtalk network (mainly used by pluses, classics, SEs) It's running...

    mac plus with weird harddive

Hi, The drive does connect to the floppy drive. It also has connects to the serial or printer port. However although I can mount it i am unable to boot from it (even when I connect to the serial port). Perhaps I'm missing an extension. I don't know. You say it supports the HD 20 init, should I...

    Mac Classic with Netware?

Sorry to highjack momentarily this thread (didn't think this post was big enough for a new thread) I've recently acquired a Mac Classic, so I booted up to see what i came with. To my surprise there are quite a few network utilities. The most interesting of all is the netware one, which...

    mac plus with weird harddive

actually I made a mistake, the harddrive does not connect to the SCSI port, it connects to the floppy port!! Just like an HD SC20. I thought nobody else had made floppy drive hard drives. I wonder if it would work with a 128 or 512k ...

    1st time vintage Mac buyer

The plus is a great choise for word processing (if you can get your hands on one easily). I would agree with tomlee59 that a zip drive is a good replacement for a hardrive. They're much easier to get, more silent, more reliable (if the zip disk breaks you just get another one), occupy much less...

    mac plus problems

lowering the brightness makes the lines almost invisible, yet if you look closely they're there, just thinner. I don't know what to think about it, everything else seems fine so I guess I'll use it until it dies.

    mac plus problems

in the case of the screen what I mean is that the screen looks like a film of a tv. Ie, when you film a tv or crt, you can see some lines going past. Well i can see very faded likes moving from the top to the botton in the same way. It's something you don't notice if you just look at the machine...

    mac plus with weird harddive

Hi, I've just acquired a mac plus (nothing strange there) with an extremely strange external hardrive. It's a paradise scsi 20 mb external hardrive. It has two connectors, a SCSI and a serial one (i guess it draws current from there). It also has a gigantic power supply, and it is quite noisy...

    mac plus problems

I've acquired a mac plus that seems to have some kind of screen problems. First i sometimes turn it on and it makes the startup bong but it doesn't do anything else. Most of the times it just boots normally. The menubar is also marked on the screen even when the computer is off (although I guess...

    Se/30 ram

Thanks tomlee for your technical isight. Equil, I'll give it a try. It's just that I've always got everything (not only mac stuff) from the EU and I'm used to not having any kind of check on my parcels. I'm a bit scared of H&M Customs when ordering stuff from outside the EU. But well, other...

    Se/30 ram

equil, you say that using the ram on ebay from the pc world will mean that the 9th chip will be ignored. Does that mean that it would work but instead of 16 mb i would get 14? Also, then what I have to look for is 30 pin , 60 ns, parity (what does that mean btw?) simms? thanks
