Man selling a "priceless" 6100 on eBay

He probably thinks it's the machine they used to send Armstrong and Co. to the moon...or something ;) Kind of cool that it was used at NASA (just not $1000 cool)

    Whatever NeXT

Now you sound like someone who knows what they're talking about...so prepare to be bombarded with questions when it turns up ;)

    Whatever NeXT

I figured he was talking out his when it came to the 68030 ;) How do you figure that it has a HD? Now then, where to find the cube version (as if)...

    Whatever NeXT

I figured that it'd sky-rocket towards the end of the auction and just kept an eye on it out of curiosity (sure these have been going for over £100 when they've come up before). When no-one had bid with 7 minutes to go I could feel the old heart start thumping. Then 3 minutes and nothing. Then 1...

    Whatever NeXT

Been watching a NeXT Station Colour on eBay all week and...I won it! Amazingly not a single other person bid on it so, for a measly £25 (+p&p), I landed the base unit (25MHz, 16Mb RAM - that's getting upped), the original 17" monitor, keyboard, mouse, soundbox and cables. Now the bad news...

OMG Apple II Web Server !!1!!!1!!!1!11!11!1!111

Only 25 years old? That's the same age as my other half...and she certainly couldn't host a web site ;)

    Simpsons Cartoon Studio

I think I might have a copy of this somewhere in the loft (bought it for a PC waaaaaaaayyyyyyyy back but never really got hooked). If my memory is working reasonable well today, it included the Mac and PC versions on the same CD too

Let's Play "Mac Plus Mystery Port"

Or maybe the 'mystery element' is too much for them ;)

    RIP LC 575

Methinks he has a Colour Classic in need of a 575 motherboard upgrade. Who knows, maybe there's a PM winging its way to you right now... ;)

Let's Play "Mac Plus Mystery Port"

Hmm, strange - maybe a 9 pin serial port? Wonder if it's actually wired up to anything or whether it's just stuck/bolted onto the case. Be very interesting to crack open and see what's lurking inside

What The Hell Is A 512K/800?

I do (probably because I've got one)...and I've never even been to Japan ;)

No, I plugged in a motherboard that had been hand dried and left on a radiator for half an hour. The layout in the Mac II means that no 'wet' components came in contact with the PSU save for the plug that supplies power to the board. And I do not appreciate being called dumb

Err...I did. Got a dead Mac II which didn't want to do anything so, being a conscientious soul, decided to clean it inside and out (so that it was clean and pretty). Then plugged it all back together again and figured I'd try to get the PSU to fire up, spin its fan and dry the thing out (I know...

Sounds like you could have electrolite leakage. Long term solution is to change the caps. Short term fix is to clean up any gunk on the motherboard or try washing it (I'm not kidding - unplug every from the motherboard and wash it in warm soapy water, rinse in clean water and leave to dry for a...

Not What It Says On The Tin

It came with 8.6 installed and seems quite happy running that - not that I've really had much time to put it through its paces OS X is probably out as it'd need the hard drive and RAM upping massively - neither of which I really want to do Might investigate a Rage or a Radeon though ;)

Not What It Says On The Tin

Landed a 6400 a couple of weeks ago via eBay and it finally arrived on Saturday. Ok so I thought I'd got a bargain as, for a mere £5, I'd snagged a 200MHz machine with 72Mb of RAM - WRONG! When the delivery guy dropped it off it was making a horrible 'clunking' noise which didn't sound healthy...

    Which Powerbook

You just keep burbling away to yourself ;) The 280c is a nice little machine. Seem to remember that the screen is a nice (if you can get away with the size) but while I've never had a problem with the keyboard myself, the position of the trackerball button meant that it was a pain if I ever...
