Been watching a NeXT Station Colour on eBay all week and...I won it! Amazingly not a single other person bid on it so, for a measly £25 (+p&p), I landed the base unit (25MHz, 16Mb RAM - that's getting upped), the original 17" monitor, keyboard, mouse, soundbox and cables. Now the bad news...

I think I might have a copy of this somewhere in the loft (bought it for a PC waaaaaaaayyyyyyyy back but never really got hooked). If my memory is working reasonable well today, it included the Mac and PC versions on the same CD too

Hmm, strange - maybe a 9 pin serial port? Wonder if it's actually wired up to anything or whether it's just stuck/bolted onto the case. Be very interesting to crack open and see what's lurking inside

No, I plugged in a motherboard that had been hand dried and left on a radiator for half an hour. The layout in the Mac II means that no 'wet' components came in contact with the PSU save for the plug that supplies power to the board. And I do not appreciate being called dumb

It came with 8.6 installed and seems quite happy running that - not that I've really had much time to put it through its paces OS X is probably out as it'd need the hard drive and RAM upping massively - neither of which I really want to do Might investigate a Rage or a Radeon though ;)

Landed a 6400 a couple of weeks ago via eBay and it finally arrived on Saturday. Ok so I thought I'd got a bargain as, for a mere £5, I'd snagged a 200MHz machine with 72Mb of RAM - WRONG! When the delivery guy dropped it off it was making a horrible 'clunking' noise which didn't sound healthy...
