You'll be happy to learn that i was able to finish the list that same day. |)

Possible conquest but need help! Netherlands!

I'm in Duisburg, Germany, if that helps. About 250 km. Shipping of a compact mac to me would be a little less than 20 €.

Power Macintosh 6xxx Tower - Like the way the case looks.

Still, it looks like a :-* mouth and the designers must have seen that too. What did they think? I believe the Q700 shouldn't be in that picture. It's an entirely different design, am i the only one seeing it that way?

Make up mirror? Anyways, my Vx lost it's battery capacity after a few years. Turns out the case is glued together, a real PITA, but with a heatgun i managed. If someday a Vx with a worn out case comes along my way, i'll transplant it, together with a proper battery and a keyboard...

Can't get Quadra 650 SCSI set up.

Yes, the last device in the chain should be terminated. Problem is, SCSI signals bounce back at the end of the connection. The signal then is seen on all devices again, but with a slight time difference, thus smudging all signals. A terminator (basically a resistor) avoids that. I think all you...

Here, feast your eyes on my IBM Workpad, which is a Palm Vx undercover: I remember that it came with PalmOS 3.5, you could call IBM and they sent you a CD with PalmOS 4.0, which you then had to write into the ROM. I also remember that i had an app that would overclock the hardware...

    BrickOven™ PizzaBox Hack revisited . . .

::) Not one listing for 128MB 72pin in Ebay Germany. It appears i am too late.

    BrickOven™ PizzaBox Hack revisited . . .

,,The first 90 percent of the code accounts for the first 90 percent of the development time. The remaining 10 percent of the code accounts for the other 90 percent of the development time.'' -- Tom Cargill, Bell Labs  Anyways, glad you are in contact. NetBSD/mac68k could live 20 years...

    BrickOven™ PizzaBox Hack revisited . . .

That's a nice hack. Any chance your patches find their way into the NetBSD source tree? You can use send-pr(1) to do it. Finally i have a reason to buy 128MB SIMMs! BTW, is there a RSS feed on your homepage? Can't wait for the "NetBSD/mac68k Work Entry #2". |)

    Identify this iMac, if possible

Valuable information i guess. But i lack the skill to use it. I just let it snap for now, it's not that they snap that often. Yet. 8-)

    Quadra 605

Not really. It's enough to shuffle several xterms around, xedit (text), xmh (email) on twm (the included windows manager, very old school, but uses nearly no ressources). But it's really not pleasant. Remember, the hardware underneath is obsolete since 20 years. You could use a remote X11 server...

    BrickOven™ PizzaBox Hack revisited . . .

bbraun. it seems you are doing good work. I believe it would benefit your goal if you would discuss your findings on the appropriate mailing lists (which are also available via gmane, in case you prefer web or nntp). Some of the original hackers are still around. There isn't much development...

    Quadra 605

Haven't had problems with my LC475 plastic yet. Only problem is, the yellowing isn't uniform, it seems there was a book or so laying on it. But only half. And not aligned. Triggers my inner Monk. So, any special plans for this Q605?

    BrickOven™ PizzaBox Hack revisited . . .

Good question. I would benchmark it, but it appears my Performa 630 is half dead. It boots into the system, then, after a few seconds it starts to beep frantically, as if someone is sitting on the keyboard, then it hangs. Keyboard is known good, PRAM zapped, battery full. I can tell you this...

    BrickOven™ PizzaBox Hack revisited . . .

I would say that depends on how clever all the software parts come together and how stable the hardware part gets. Let's just assume that any 68k machine can be beaten when doing a job that can be broken into many smaller jobs. Compiling code using makefiles is such a job. One board compiles...

    BrickOven™ PizzaBox Hack revisited . . .

BTW, this is the box that builds all the m68k packages (actually a few architectures use these packages): http://lilith.ziaspace.com/ @Trash80toHP_Mini: i feel guilty that i have shanghaied your thread with all that NetBSD nonsense.

    BrickOven™ PizzaBox Hack revisited . . .

That sounds awesome and i have the feeling you know what you are talking about. I couldn't test the floppy/netatalk boot method yet, but i am confident that it works. I hear it's how some people do their kernel development and debugging stuff. ;D

    BrickOven™ PizzaBox Hack revisited . . .

Another option must be found. :O A floppy holds about 1.4 mb of files. My smallest possible kernel is 930 kb compressed. I need another 100 kb for the bootloader and 550 kb for the System file (system 7 de from the install floppy). I'll also need space for the right enabler. I'm not aware of...
