IDE drives might be a blessing, you can cheaply turn this to solid state. Nice one. :giggle: I have a bag too, sadly the foam padding between the inner and outer fabric seems to fall apart, which means there is a bunch of particles everywhere. I was thinking about replacing the foam, but lack the sewing skills to close it up again. Hope yours is stable in that regard.

I think it's fairly common that 42 or even 44 MHz works. Have to order the oscillators and give that a go. So far it's smooth sailing, didn't notice a single problem with 40MHz.

Bus error could be software, from defective desktop file to wrong enablers. I would wipe the image with zeros, or create a blank one, activate termination, use ID0, and have it alone on the internal SCSI bus. I would try for an external case for the Jaz drive, avoiding cosmetic changes on the SE. I have an external SCSI CD drive i can give you, but shipping would be harsh i suppose. Easy to remove the CD and put something else in there, HDD, Jaz, Zip, removeable drive bay, you name it. You also...
