so ram speed now is reverse then? The speed of new ram is larger number the better.

isnt the bigger number faster ram?  wouldnt 80ns ram be better?  Newer computers default to the slowest ram in the system maybe thats the case?  My 7500 with G3 actually has settings for better ram speeds.

9.2 wont boot later systems, must be 9.2.2,  you have to have the installer cd and/or the folder trick i mentioned.

To boot from 9 on the machine I think you have to have a 9.2.2 specific installer for the machine.  This is the same kind of issue for MDD towers and such.  I have put OS 9.2.2 on an MDD and powerbook using the emac OS9 hidden folder drug onto the hard drive of those machines and it works if OS9...

A CRT monitor. The refresh rates knock most LCD's off thier game.  Harder to find but maybe someone close to you has one you can borrow.  I have a 640x480 LCD that will not work with any radius cards also due to refresh rates out of range.

The speaker is connected directly to the logic board.  I would almost guess its unplugged.  I personally have never seen one go bad but anything is possible at this age.  If you do have to drill it out, new rivets will cover it right back up.  I have replaced ones on the classics that way.

could be right on both counts.  the flyback being bad could have popped the power board.

did you unplug the motherboard power?  With my SE and its accelerator just a flat screwdriver in the side vent and gently prying pops one side out, the you can just pull its across rather than back.
