So THAT'S where all the Flower Power and Blue Dalmatian iMacs went! You should grab those since they're hard to find. I'd pay shipping plus $5 if they're the same deal as the iMac you grabbed. I'm sure many others here would too...
Cool scores, interested to hear what else you get from him!
That dumpster is a gold mine! You've gotta find out who's tossing that stuff in there and give them your phone number! That'll save you from having to climb in after them!
You are correct...it's a sad end considering how big they once were. The Mac revolutionized desktop publishing, and Radius made great stuff when it came to displays and graphics cards and really made the whole thing click. WYSIWYG is great, but much better when you can see the whole thing.
"Grandmother, what large resolution you have!"
"The better to geek out with, my dear."
Somehow a parody of Little Red Riding Hood was the first thing that came to my mind, well after "****ing awesome". Maybe because you mentioned the LittleRedRadiusPixelRocket™?
That's an awesome setup. I love all the accessories...dunno where to start. I've got a 20 SC HD...haven't seen a 160 in a while. Haven't touched my CD SCs in a while. Haven't seen an Apple Tape Drive in a long time. Those original OneScanners are tougher to find too. I've only got the newer...
Yeah yellow just leads itself to too many jokes. Too bad...I still think it'd have been interesting. Especially in the tray loading model, but I seem to recall the rumor during the flavored slot load era.
I was about to say how I was too lazy to Google it, but my curiosity got the best of me. I...
Agreed on being better off with a collection of a few you can maintain, use and cherish versus a super hoard. I've got too many left over from the days of getting tons at once for pocket change. Now I hardly know where to start when it comes to playing with them again.
Unless you have a huge...
I really wish I had taken that non-working Flower Power iMac I was offered years ago. Oh well... Blue Dalmation is the one I'd love to have. I remember staring at them at MacWorld Expo, thinking they were probably running out of color ideas... I think Sage and Snow are my favorites of the slot...
True on both, actually. Now that I think of it in the late 1990s they were cheap but usually not less than the shipping cost. (Sometimes they were...depended on the model and the deal you found.) It was the early 2000s when I started taking in a lot of 68k and early PPCs for next to nothing.
A...
That's what I thought...memory was fuzzy on those. Boy did I want one when they first came out. Wanted a 200 even more when I had one on loan as told before. I recall my Step Dad having a Sony that saved pictures to a floppy disk. I finally got a 1.3 MP Sony of my own that used MemorySticks some...
Congrats! I like the Quadra 700. I'm kicking myself for not grabbing a Mac to steal a PSU from to fix mine when I went to my storage room. The car was getting full and the GF was getting impatient in the passenger seat waiting for me. Next time...
The "slidey thing" on the top center of the screen that keeps it latched shut? That's what I was talking about, not sure if we're on the same page. It appears broken in the picture. Either way, it probably has what's needed.
Judging from the fact that you mentioned pricing in euros, shipping...
...And the sweet scores keep rolling in. Given the fact that it got tossed into a dumpster I'd say you're lucky all that's broken are the tabs.
I opened a WGS 6150 and Performa 6116CD both with tabs still on them and managed to get them open and shut without breaking anything. (Well, anything...
I might be able to help with the latch, but not soon. I have a FrankenBook with a 145b screen and 170 base (if I remember right). I took a quick glance at it when I went to my storage room a little while back. Hasn't been tested in years and would most likely have to be sold as-is. (Except that...
Oh man that reminds me of using QuickTakes back in school. I remember playing with them and knowing that it was a real hint at the future of photography. No film...plug it in and transfer the pictures. Delete and keep going. Low resolution sure, but still.
I especially remember getting to take...

MacBook for free in the trash hopefully in need of a cheap repair? Nice. Even if it were used for parts I'm sure there's plenty of good stuff.
$300 i5 15" MBP? That's the kind of stuff that has me searching CL daily. And $100 MacBooks...
I'm jealous. I haven't gotten an awesome score in...
I'm glad they moved away from that fog color quickly. It sure looks nice when it's new, but it seems to fade worse than any of them in my experience.
Still a sweet conquest, especially with the accessories and such. Is the ImageWriter II the older fog model without the name printed on the...
