Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
As far as I know, no. I've never owned a MDD or done said swap, so I'd feel better once someone else confirms this. Keep in mind the faster boards after these went back to supporting 9...although any of them will be fast enough.
As far as I know you need one of the non-FW 800 boards, and the special MDD OS 9 CD. I hear Apple will send you one if you explain your situation. I also hear they'll send you 10.5 so you can run a modern version of iTunes and buy digital content from them (or something like that). Someone else...
I'm trying to cheat and find it on CL. IN the process I also spotted this G4 Cube for $100: http://myrtlebeach.craigslist.org/sys/2967739232.html
The MDD is a better Mac, but I usually see Cubes commanding more than their performance is worth.
EDIT: I give up on cheating and trying to find the...
Well I love love a bargain (who doesn't?) so I'll say what I think fair market value might be...which I'd guess at $100-200.
But it's late and my Mac value-o-meter may be off. At least I had the guts to go first.
Guess as to the real cost: $75? I think you're hinting it was low.
Jeez Every Time Something Kills Itself :p
Too lazy to use bold. I just made that one up. That's all I could think of as far as some sort of thing about jetskis costing money. Who's got a better one? :D
I've never touched one or looked up costs on them or their parts though. Then again if...
I used to sell marine parts. Boat=Bust Out Another Thousand. That's just talking about the parts, even the yearly maintenance stuff. Then there's the cost of fuel. Before I worked there I wanted a boat. Now I'm just glad my Dad has one I can go out on with him on a few weekends per summer...
Very nice haul all around, especially all for $40! I love Snow. One of these days I'll grab slot loaders in Tangerine, Lime, Sage, and Ruby. I'd like a Flower Power and Blue Dalmatian too...and...well...every other color ever made... The first three are the ones that interest me the most though...
Nice little compact stash. I'd have counted the parts SE as a half. :p
Will the analog board in the SE work in the garage Classic?
I'm not sure how many compacts I have total. (Or how many Macs, for that matter...) I know there's three SE/30s and a 512K here. There's more in storage: SEs...
I really wanted to make a fish tank out of one or both of my dead Studio Displays. Then I was forced to move to a smaller place and off to the dump they went with the beat up shells os a IIc and IIe, two beat up ImageWriters, and like six monochrome Apple IIgs monitors. Wish I could have kept...
I've already spoken to Bunsen and Arthegall via PM, but I'd also like to publicly apologize for my poor conduct. In hindsight it was rude and in exceptionally poor taste. Never again. This is a community I wish to contribute to, not be a burden on.
I don't wish sour this thread or steer it off...
Congrats and ditto on what Trash said. I bought a 17" Graphite new in 1999 that eventually died, and got a 17" Blueberry with a B&W 300 that died shortly after I got it. The 21" Blueberry still lives. Not in use currently, but the gigantic monster sits waiting in the basement for the day I...
before reading the text glancing at the title and pictures alone, I thought you were going to list off a few items you salvaged from it. Not bring the entire thing to life. Good job comrade!
Holy cow, it lives! Many less adventurous folks would have declared it trash at the sight of all that dirt, water and rust. Did I read right that everything worked including the optical drive after drying and cleaning?
I've put all the missed eBay deals in the past. I can't recall any now put I've had my share.
The only example I can think of was a pickup truck. My then boss had a 1983 (or 81?) Chevy 1/2 truck he kept to make runs to the dump and such. He also had multiple other vehicles both new and old, and...
I say keep it in the original box after removing the battery to protect it from potential scratches and other harm. That may encourage keeping the box somewhere safe too...I recently lost a lot of Apple boxes from keeping them in an old garage at my Mom's. Someday it'll be worth much more than a...
That seems to be what would make the most sense. Mactracker shows the LC II being discontinued as of March 1993, but these sort of obscure facts can be overlooked in it. The lids and floppies being replaced after the fact wouldn't make sense...offering yesterday's technology for less money to...
@LCGuy: That's the first manual inject LC II I've ever seen, thanks for sharing the picture. Anyone have more information, or own one? I thought there was a month of overlap or so in production of the LC II to the LC III and the design change came after the LC II was discontinued. Geez, you...
Manual inject LC II? Never heard of or seen such a beast. I knew they transitioned with the LC IIIs...did they maintain production of the LC II as a cheaper alternative for schools?
To be obsessively complete, there's a few missing as Cory started to list. I've never seen an old-style auto inject Performa 475. I have a newer style manual Performa and LC 475 though. Despite this I've always kind of wanted a Quadra 605. I suppose just for the fact that it says Quadra on the...
