Didn't Xlr8's Mach Speed Tools support setting that PLL too? I don't know if it had that same software problems that CPU Director had. I swear I remember trying it one time under OS X but went back for some reason.
I've always understood it was an intentional block from using G4s (specifically from the Yikes! most likely). Apple just being an a**.
I think Powerlogix's CPU Director (to set the PLL) had to be updated for each version (from my time using my 750gx) and they stopped at 10.4.9 I think.
I think the Z-Force from Powerlogix had dip switch setting for up to 60MHz, I don't know if they went beyond it. The manual on the waybackmachine has its dip switch image corrupted, of course.
What about Apple's Pages and Numbers applications? They're separate applications but they're pretty foolproof, being native Apple apps.
I can't tell if that's what you meant by iWork. They haven't been called that in some time.
I take it the resistors are just setting the boot up frequency. This is neat but I wish I had a full 040 in mine, and not an LC. I've heard they don't overclock over 33MHz well.
I swear I was watching a video about some of the CPU development Apple was working on in the 90s. It was the reason they bought that Cray too.
Here it be:
I'm surprised Apple didn't really do any dual or quad chips for an actual server platform, that might have been able to take advantage of it.
I know Applefritter used to be hosted off a weird prototype ANS.
Just in quick perusal at work, this is very neat. Excellent work. I'll let the more technical members scrutinize it, though, first before giving you a thousand internet points.
