Anyone have an AppleTalk ImageWriter and a TashTalk or AirTalk?

Ah cool. Well I got the files off my PowerBook and uploaded here in case you're interested. There's a capture of printing plain text, a print with "failed formatting" that i don't remember the context of, and renaming the printer. I have the text exported file format and the netminder capture...

Anyone have an AppleTalk ImageWriter and a TashTalk or AirTalk?

I can help too. I have a LocalTalk ImageWriter II and a TashTalk and I can try and get something setup this week. Also, I have a couple old LocalTalk captures taken with NetMinder from a failed project trying to understand the IW protocol. Would those be useful? There is also a text file export...

Anybody want to look over my PhoneNET helper image?

You have the three plug images at the bottom labeled as 2P2C, 4P4C, and 6P6C but the jack listing below all say 6 position. Aren't all of the plugs 6P? I honestly don't know the right answer, but I am confused ;)

Macintosh, Lisa, and IIGS Dealer and Developer Floppy Disk trove

With a pile that large it might be worth looking into the Applesauce https://applesaucefdc.com/ Not only to get flux images, but also for a faster workflow. Sadly they're still out of stock due to supply chain issues, but the developer hopes to have more early next year. It might be worth asking...

SEthernet and SEthernet/30: A new take on PDS Ethernet

Congrats! That's so cool to see the packet, what a great feeling. I want to say I really appreciate all the documentation and explanations you've put in your source code. For someone with only software knowledge, it's been quite enlightening.

    9" Compact Completists?

There are also 3 revisions of the Macintosh Plus ROM. Though I think most of the actual produced macs had the latest one. Still, might be interesting if someone finds out they have an early one. Details are in Tech Note #139 https://www.tech-insider.org/mac/research/acrobat/8803-f.pdf Also the...

    Questions about Ample

Those menu items were likely leftover from a program template that the author used. I wouldn't read much into it. HOWEVER check out the "Bookmark" menu. I believe that will let you save presets and call them up later.

In search of the A/ROSE development disks

I don't have the software, but there are two different versions of the developer guide floating around on Bitsavers. This is from Feb 1989 before the renamed MR-DOS to A/ROSE http://bitsavers.org/pdf/apple/mac/developer/MCP/MCP_Developers_Guide_198902.pdf And this one is from November 89...

Introducing (and interest check) AirTalk: Wireless plug-and-play LocalTalk dongles

Is the a program that can bridge LToUDP to EtherTalk? I have a couple of Macs setup with EtherTalk and that would let me connect a PowerBook over AirTalk and connect with them. If not, maybe it wouldn't be too hard for me to write. Hmmmm.

    Good first Apple II?

Macs with the correct extensions can read and write to ProDOS formatted 800k floppies. The IIgs, IIc, and IIc plus have serial ports and you can use serial transfer programs like ADT to move files back and forth. One thing to note is that the IIc uses a larger socket, but there are adapters...

    Apple iigs setup

You cannot use a Mac monitor as they work on different horizontal frequencies. Shame on Apple for using the same connector. Any composite TV should work, I don't see why the apple composite monitor wouldn't. As long as you use the composite video port on the IIgs. It will be lower resolution...

Powerbook 180 - Floppy drive irreparable?

Maybe an obvious question that you've already done, but have you tried cleaning it with a cleaning floppy? It sounds like the drive is mostly working, but maybe the heads are dirty.

A 'once and for all' declaration regarding L88M mask MC68040 CPUs
