    Macintosh Floppy EMU SSD

...I've had a question for a while now concerning the HD20. Is it capable to have a higher drive capacity? I know it isn't really possible to replace the 20MB HDD in a real unit, but is there anything in the HD20 protocol to limit you to 20MB? (or 32MB? or 2GB?..) :-D

Strange problem with floppies used on PowerBook 1400cs

One could argue that up until recently, you needed them to operate a 128k/etc due to lack of SCSI port, but now that the floppy emulator has been released even I have to admit the ol' floppy is no longer needed...

    Q605/LC475 (onboard) ram upgrade.

With throughhole ICs like that he would have been better off making a custom PCB with PCB push pins for the IC holes connecting to a SIMM socket.

    Q605/LC475 (onboard) ram upgrade.

Adding to my question regarding the Classic II, I just looked at a high res logic board image (since I'm too lazy to open mine) and it looks like it only has 4 RAM chips. Going by the part number shown (KM44C1000AJ- 8) it is unfortunately already using 1M x 4 ICs (which would make sense since...

    Q605/LC475 (onboard) ram upgrade.

Perhaps the Classic II is a different enough design to the Classic (I) to allow more than 2MB onboard RAM.

    Q605/LC475 (onboard) ram upgrade.

I've been watching this thread with great interest. I would love to double the amount of RAM my 475 can handle... 8-o Sorry to hijack this thread a bit, but would this sort of thing work for a Classic II? It has 2MB onboard in the same style as this. Any chance it could be increased to 8MB...

the best web browser for 68kmacs

Someone in the IRC channel pointed me towards https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dillo, but the only ports for it are DOS, Windows, OSX & Linux. It might be compact enough to run on later 68k machines, though it uses a 3d rendering libary that doesn't seem to have an early Mac version...

Upgrade Powerbook Ti 867 to 1Ghz?

The logic boards in the 867 and the 1ghz are the same board. The only difference is there are a few resistors on the board that set the CPU speed. If you are good at SMT soldering and have some spare resisitors (IIRC you need 1 or 2 extra resisitors to up the speed) you can swap/add the...
