OK, so decided to not mess with de widget too much and leave the current OS on there. Question, what storage alternatives are there to install and run LisaOS from? I do have the "Parallel" card for the Lisa, I kinda recall reading somewhere of some SD/Flashcard solution working of the parallel...

Am really happy with the machine, I guess it's the only still somewhat "affordable" of the Apple Holy Grails, at least for us laymen :) Guess only topped by a working Lisa 1 and the original Apple 1...

It does indeed show "something"/88 in the right upper corner during boot, I thought the "something" was an M, but might just as well be an H!

That actually is something I am going to try to find out! It seems somebody modified something in the OS, because where the Larry, John,... stuff should be, is what seems to be a company name, followed by a person's name and a Belgian phonenumber which is in the same area code as I am! Kind of...

Ok, rifa replaced! And, step by step I am getting everything back to work! The widget is back alive! Almost 40 years old piece of mechanical equipment, it's simply magical it still works, holds its data... And, so I have a Lisa XL apparently. I am sort of dissapointend in a way, would have...

Sweeet Jeeesus.... I HATE VINTAGE RIFA'S In the morning a Rifa in my Apple //c monitor went up in a puff of stinking smoke, and just when the stink of that one sorta got dissipated, the Rifa in the Lisa power supply decided to do just the same! Scared the living bejeesus out of me, worying...

Next step, carfully coaching the widget back to work. It spins up, but I don't hear the clank of the brake releasing...

So, the monochrome monitor which came with the //c blew it's rifa(s), and as they do, also my nostrils :) . Didn't give a blink though, still working, but before using it again I'll replace the rifa's, and possibly other capacitors as well, will asses what needs to be done after opening it up...

A bit hard to say, but looks unused. The copper pads where it goes into the connector have absolutely no scratches, normally you always see some small lines... Nor at the two places where the screws go. Also not heat discoloration like you'd expect on older pcb's

Just picked up a IIc, now trying to get software for it, no floppies were included (just ordered the special serial cable and bootable floppy with ADTpro)! I read in this thread that IIc' come at a premium price, but this seems more so in the USA? I know ebay is not always a good indicator, but...

My major worry as well once I get the parts and need to start working on mine!

Aaah, the spoils of our hobby, what you sometimes come by on those old harddrives! Once picked up a Duo230, from an attic clean up, happened to be owned by a journalist from one of the major local newspapers, still had a load of his articles on the harddrive, some I was actually able to find...
