Can anyone identify this Mystery Cable and Adapter?

If that is what it is (it has no Apple markings), what might that have been used for?

Can anyone identify this Mystery Cable and Adapter?

Yeah, the 8-pin end of it struck me as odd, particularly when research suggested it might be some sort of VGA Cable.

Can anyone identify this Mystery Cable and Adapter?

These came connected to one another: The Cable is AWM E89980 CSA LL64151 (might to be a VGA Cable of some sort, based on a search for the product codes). 25-pin male connector on one end, with an 8-pin DIN connector on the other end. It was connected to an adapter with no visible markings --...

I'm thinking this is a failing SCSI Hard Drive...

Here are quick photos. (I think there are rubber feet that are missing.)

I'm thinking this is a failing SCSI Hard Drive...

Still not sure about the external enclosure, but the drive that may have failed was a Quantum LP240S.

I'm thinking this is a failing SCSI Hard Drive...

I will try to get an image up shortly. For what it’s worth, it was attached to two more recent LaCie drives, so there’s the chance it could be another. (There was a spot on the case that had not been yellowed with age, where I was thinking there used to be a badge.)

I'm thinking this is a failing SCSI Hard Drive...

I've been trying to format an old SCSI drive from an unknown vendor (I've seen no badges or identifying marks), and I keep running into an error using SCSI Director that strongly implies a hardware error -- Sense Key: 04, HARDWARE ERROR. I have a terminator that came with the drive, but I have...

Please help me to Identify these Display (?) Cables!

No identifiable markings, apart from the one that's marked "Radius." (There is information printed on the cables, or course, if that becomes of any use.)

Please help me to Identify these Display (?) Cables!

I have an Apple High Resolution Monochrome Monitor, which has a DB15 connector. It powers on, but I have nothing with which to connect and test it. (For context, these came with a non-working IIsi, just to give you an idea of the era.) With that, I've found three cables, which may or may not...

Missing Pressure Pad (and Shield) from 400K Floppy Drive

That's also an option. I think when I get the Rominator sorted out and installed, I'll connect the drive outside the case and try to get a sense of what it is or isn't happening.

Missing Pressure Pad (and Shield) from 400K Floppy Drive

The Q-Tip-as-Pressure-Pad solution worked well, and was relatively easy to implement. I got the Mac 512K to boot from the a System disk, though it got only as far as a blank desktop before it encountered System Error 15 -- I'm thinking this is probably a further issue with the 400K drive...

Missing Pressure Pad (and Shield) from 400K Floppy Drive

I'm confident enough in the health of the Mac to order (and assemble) a Rominator, so I'll probably just boot from the ROM as a matter of course. But I would like to have a working Floppy Drive. How does the Q-Tip stay in place? Is it a tight fit?

Missing Pressure Pad (and Shield) from 400K Floppy Drive

I've been servicing the 400K drive from my Macintosh 512K -- the drive spins and ejects (and the load and eject mechanism feels great), but it won't read any disks -- it spins up and ejects a disk almost immediately. I think I might have found the reason why -- the felt Pressure Pad is missing...

Please help me to decipher this Sad Mac Code...

That would be very much appreciated — and if all goes well, I would be happy to pass them along to someone else in need. I think I’m sold on the idea of Kay Koba’s Rominator kit, and I was thinking of getting the version with the extra working ROM chips. (I’ll PM you off-line. Thanks again!)

Please help me to decipher this Sad Mac Code...

I am somewhat reluctant so spend $80-$90 without confidence that the problem is with either or both of the ROM chips -- but that's certainly something I'm considering!

Please help me to decipher this Sad Mac Code...

A Macintosh 512K has been passed along to me -- I had a quick look inside for obvious indications of damage, didn't find any (and the Logic Board seemed to be in much better condition than I would have expected). It powers on, but I do get a Sad Mac code -- 016AFF. I think I understand this to...

Mac SE Restoration Project -- seeking advice!

I was thinking that doing this work -- slow and steady -- on an already-working Mac (even if it's not necessary, strictly speaking) might be good to gain experience and confidence for more complicated projects. I'm hoping to find an older compact Mac, but I don't expect I'll be able to find one...

Mac SE Restoration Project -- seeking advice!

A functional Mac SE (FDHD) was passed along to me, and this has set me along the winding path of a restoration project that I’ve had in mind to try for some time. I’ve replaced a few faulty RAM modules to get it properly working again, and I’ve also disassembled and cleaned the Floppy Drive and...
