Cheap and simple ADB to USB converter

I have a follow-up question: how do you map the "Power" key on an ADB keyboard? I'm using an Apple Keyboard II (M0487), and the button is actually referred to as "Reset."

Cheap and simple ADB to USB converter

...And I was actually able to get this working, after all. I used the web-based tool to build a keyboard firmware, and then used QMK Toolbox to flash the board. It still wasn't working with the ADB keyboard, but once I had done this step, the Elite-C was no longer defaulting to DFU mode -- I was...

Cheap and simple ADB to USB converter

I think I'm going to have a go at removing the Elite-C Board, and see how that process goes. Otherwise, I think I shall pick myself up, dust myself off, and try this again. In the event that I need to purchase a new ATMega32u4 Board, what am I looking for? It seems as though I'd also need an...

Cheap and simple ADB to USB converter

Trying this again this morning, this time on an older iMac with USB-A, both with a USB 3 and USB 2 port (via a hub). As before, it stops at "Waiting for USB Serial Port -- Reset your Controller Now," but never completes. As fas as I can tell (from QMK Toolbox) it's already in DFU mode -- I'm not...

Cheap and simple ADB to USB converter

I did read of suggestions that USB 3 ports could be a problem, so the next step will be to try this on an older USB-A Mac with an Adapter. No ADB keyboard attached. And I would need to un-solder everything to see if my soldering skills are the cause of the issue.

Cheap and simple ADB to USB converter

Took much, much longer than I had anticipated, but I've finally been able to build an ADB-to-USB Converter. I've run into a problem, and I'm hoping the assembled wisdom of the Board might help. I am reasonably confident that I've built this correctly and haven't screwed anything up. I don't see...

Life got in the way of my interest in all this, but I’m looking forward to this project next year!

Help with information about these two non-funtioning Lisa models

Following up on this, as the owner of these is interested in selling them. They are both located in the lower Hudson Valley in New York -- I can't imagine shipping them is going to be an option. If there is any interest, please send me a private message -- I may make a more formal "For Sale"...

Any recommended vendor for a Display Assembly for a PowerBook G4 (15-inch 1.5/1.33 GHz)?

I have a customer that is looking to replace a broken Display. I'd like to replace the entire part. (I have no interest in taking the Display apart to replace the LCD -- it's going to be enough of a process to get to the point of removing the Display.) I've had a quick look, and I can find the...

Cheap and simple ADB to USB converter

That'd be swell, and very much appreciated! I'll send you a message. I'm thinking there's probably nothing about this that is too far out of my range of experience -- but for everything, there is a first time!

Cheap and simple ADB to USB converter

Just stumbled into the rabbit hole of this thread. I want to make sure I understand what I've been reading... So I'd need to order the PCB that serves as the Adapter, and the Resistor and the ADB Connector are installed on that board. And it looks as though headers would be needed, as well...

Help with information about these two non-funtioning Lisa models

The unit with a Serial Number (that I thought to be a Lisa 2, becaue of the Battery pack) was the one from Sun Remarketing. Image 0987 is of the Floppy Drive, long with what I suppose it a Hard Drive above it. Image 0988 is from what I thought to be a Lisa 2/10 or Mac XL. Image 0989 is from...

USB-ADB Converters. Tinkerboy, Drakware, or Wombat?

While we're on the subject -- I've started using an Apple Keyboard M1106 at home (with the USB Wombat). I really, really appreciate the tactile feel of the key switches, and I haven't had the patience (or the money) to find something similar in a current-day mechanical keyboard. I'm using USB...

Help with information about these two non-funtioning Lisa models

That's my latter-day technical training bias revealing itsellf, I suppose. When I think of I/O, I expect to see ports! Without having to go to any significant effort requiring disassembly -- what might I be looking for in the Floppy Drive?

Help with information about these two non-funtioning Lisa models

One has a Serial Number, though one does not -- not that I could see. First five photos are of the Lisa 2, including the label; the rest are of the Lisa 2/10 or Mac XL, followed by the Label and Serial Number. The Sun Remarketing chip in the first photo is on what I would expect to be the...

Help with information about these two non-funtioning Lisa models

I have on hand two non-funtioning LIsa models. So far, I've not had the opportunity for more than a quick look at both, and I didn't have the chance to capture the Serial Numbers (though I'll try to do that later). The first had a Battery Pack which, unfortunately, had not been removed (I have...

USB-ADB Converters. Tinkerboy, Drakware, or Wombat?

Bumping this thread, for no useful reason, other than to say I’ve had very good experience with the BMOW Wombat — I’m just about to order another, in fact! — and really very poor experience with the TinkerBOY ADB Converter.

Can anyone identify this Mystery Cable and Adapter?

The back of the Adapter is a 25-pin female connector -- that was what the other cable was connected to, leading me to wonder if they were meant to be used together. (Consensus opinion thus far seems to be probably not.)

Can anyone identify this Mystery Cable and Adapter?

I guess the pins that have been bent up on the adapter should not be bent up, after all?
