Depends on what your use case would be. If you are a graphic designer, video editor, or do film scanning, or anything that needs lots of colors, a higher end card such as any of the 24 bit cards would be best. If you are just gaming and don't care about colors, and want the fastest card...
If someone had the time, premade ready to go images could be made for SCSI and IDE systems. Probably would need to install 8 on a drive and swap system folders to get things working reliably?
I'll PM you later today to discuss sending it back. Glad we got this done :)
I zipped the new Mac image file and uploaded to the listing on Mac garden. Not sure if that will kill any file resources or whatever, but the original 1.7GB file won't upload because of its size maybe? I still have the original of course, so if someone has a better way to compress it, let me...
I don't expect to find this one, but maybe one of you will know where to find it. Looking for NikonScan 2 so I can use my soon to arrive CoolScan III on MacOS 7. All I can find is 3+, which needs 8. I tried the Nikon Facebook group, but it doesn't seem like the admins are too quick to approve...

Also, I would appreciate any screenshots from this system running to add to the page!
Have the output of three disks, two are for the internal Mac drive, and the last, disk 3 (/dev/disk2) is the disk in question. Where do I put the path in your above command @demik ? I'd think the ide77.img is the output file name. Would I replace the first part with if=/dev/rdisk2? Or is rdisk3...
Anyone able to provide step by step instructions for dd to do an exact image using a modern Mac? That's the easiest/quickest computer I have available for this at the moment. DDrescue looks like its for linux.
Was not able to get to trying the ddrescue, but will definitely have a go tomorrow. Sorry to drag this out been really busy and don't want to rush something like this.
If I could get someone to walk me through step by step using a Mac (dd command), I would gladly do that. I haven't done any command line hard drive work before really on anything sensitive like this. There's some info online about it, but I'd prefer someone on here to post instructions.
Good to...
