Run Mac OS 9 on a PM 6100?

I was debating on running Mac OS 9.1 on my Powermac 6100/66. Is that recommended? I imagine that it would be slow as molasses, even though I maxed out the ram to 72MB and have enough patience to not go insane.

    Intel Xserve

I decided to buy an Xserve for a website that I am creating. The Xserve has two main purposes which are to, well, act as a server, as well as become an addition to my collection. Here are the specs: (2) Dual Core Intel Xeon Processors at 2.0 GHz, (2) Hot Swappable 80GB Hard Drives 4GB of Ram...

    PC Lot, Commodore Stuff, etc.

    iMac G3: HOT!

I recently bought an iMac G3 to give to someone. When the computer is on for a while (About 30min-1hour), the backside gets VERY hot (Like touch it and it burns, especially if you are touching metal). I have already modded it by installing an internal fan to help keep it cool, but it still gets...

Airport Base Station (Snow) Setup Woes

A while back, I bought a snow airport base station. I am trying to connect it to an iMac G4 via an airport card and an iMac G3 via ethernet to get on the internet. I eventually plan on having more macs connected, but for now I only need the G4. It appears that everything is set up right. In the...

    Powerbook G3: Broken HD Icon

@Bunsen: Popping in OS 9 and OSX 10.0 in the DVD Drive and held down the C button. Before the computer even tried reading from the Disk Drive, it gave me the Broken HD Icon (Which is strange, because I thought that they were supposed to read from the Disk Drive for an OS before the HD).

    More Stuff

I went back to Computer Works to get some stuff for my iBooks. After seeing that their Hard Drives and Ram were Overpriced and Batteries came with no warranty, I decided to look around for other stuff instead. Here is what I picked up: ($20) Snow Apple Airport Base Station: Included was the...

    A Pile Of iBooks

I went to Computer Works and picked up eight iBooks at $10 each. They need some stuff to make them useable (Battery, Charger, Ram, HD and Keyboard) which will probably make the total cost of the iBooks more then buying them on ebay, but I bought these for the purpose of restoring them for fun in...

Convert a Mac Plus power board?

I believe that you can buy a Voltage Down Converter and (If needed) International Plug Adapters for this issue. Examples: VDC: http://www.dvdoverseas.com/store/index.html?loadfile=catalog1_0.html IPA: http://www.dvdoverseas.com/store/index.html?loadfile=catalog11_0.html

    Macintosh IIsi Restoration

A while back I was given a Macintosh IIsi with a few issues. Not only was there Uneven Yellowing on the case, but upon powering the machine up, it would show a Solid Colored Screen and would not load the Operating System. This was probably due to Leaking Capacitors (Which I cleaned and Removed...

    Compaq Prolinea 4/66

@CompactMacLover: Thanks for the info. I probaby won't be installing a CD Drive because I need the 5 1/4 Inch Disk Drive. I also probably wont be upgrading to 95 because I already have a few 95 and 98 machines. I like to have a wide varity of OS's (And this is my only 3.1 Machine, so I wouldn't...

    Compaq Prolinea 4/66

My Grandmother has had an old Compaq Prolinea 4/66 for about 20 years and I haven't taken much interest in it until very recently even though for a long time I have needed a DOS computer to run my hundreds of PC DOS formatted 5 1/4 inch Floppy Disks that I found in the garage. Fast Foward to...

    iMac G5 Internet Problems

Update: I disassembled the iMac, Removed the Airport Card from the Slot, Put it back in and now the Internet is working like new again. Why is this? PS: I did this in the past which is why I did it again, so it seems to be a recurring problem. What is causing this?
